good god....its clear boers has never heard of incognito until this thing started. its also clear that they are very willing to insert their own context into what incognito meant, said, whatever. then boers goes "i didn't even watch the interview"... they are entrenched.

You know, on second thought, in defense of the dumbass caller, the Academy did reward Brokeback Mountain and Crash not for artistic merit but because it's okay to be gay and racism is bad.

exactly. dan had no clue what the caller was talking about. all the caller was implying is that people get awards for their characters being trendy. its not right, but its reality in america. dan bernstein is one dumb dickhead.

Well, I think the idea that America doesn't mind bullying because the Academy liked Mark Wahlberg being a bully was stupid. However, it's not as if the Academy has been known to operate strictly on artistic merit, because everyone knows Crash was a really hamfisted movie.

I guess that caller had something interesting to say about Kyrie Irving because Dan kept screaming over him while he was talking "YOU'RE RIGHT"/"YOU'RE ON IT"/"I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOIN'"/"UH-HUH"/"YEP" to the point that I couldn't follow what the guy was trying to say.

I'm glad Dan knows, though.

I'm a huge Kubrick fan, and I was a little suspicious of this. I went on IMDB to do some fact checking. Turns out my suspicions were mostly correct. Clockwork was nominated for multiple Academy Awards but didn't win any. Same for Golden Globes. It did win some New York Film Critics award thing, so you were right, I guess, sort of.
