I've been trying to go 5x or more a week and I only know two people there. One is a former neighbor and one is a co-worker. Don't spend more than 2 minutes talking to either. If you are making friends at the gym then you are staying there for a long time and likely not getting much exercise. It always cracks me up when I see two people on the bikes or elliptical having an extended conversation with one another. Can't be getting much of a workout if you have time to calmly speak about politics or the story of the day whilst on the machine. |

In the summer, fall, spring, I try to wear shorts, sweatshirt and backpack, so I can just take off the sweatshirt, put it in the bag and never enter the stench of the locker room. In the winter, that plan doesnt work, so I need to enter the realm of bernstein like guys. Being that Danny is cheap and doesnt live too far from me, I would say there is a chance he is an X Sport on Elston guy, but when he talks about the old guys at the gym it has to be Lakeshore Athletic club. East Bank is way too much of a scene for Danny to be there, thats everything he claims he isnt. |
