Ice Dancing is kind of like synchronized swimming on ice. I guess it's a valid point about judges determining the winner, but judges do determine the winners in boxing. I haven't heard Dan refer to boxing as not a sport based on that criteria. |

I thought I heard Bernsie mention today maybe in passing that boxing should go back to old time Joe Louis times. I think he meant fight till knockout not decisions and judges. |

I have been on the 'Judging does not equal sport" kick for years! When the entire outcome of the event is only based on the judgement of others, primarily based on style points. ughhh... No, Boxing does not have style points. Boxer A lands 40 punches to the body. Thats good. Boxer B land 15 powerful uppercuts. Good time to allow judge some ability to make the round 10-9 to the 15 more damaging punches. that is the extent of my judging allowed in sports. |

There are referees and officials in all sports that affect the outcome of their sports with their decisions. I guess technically they don't judge the games, but those NBA officials can pretty much give game 5 to the Knicks by making a bad call. |
