I'm sure Dan's foundation truly appreciates his "class" in an attempt at humor in making fun of Kim Novak during the Oscars last nite. Yes...we could ALL tell...BAD plastic surgery!! Nice job captain obvious! Woman is a cancer survivor, recovering from a stroke and also fighting mental illness. At least someone called Dan out on it..funny or sad thing is...Danny boy didn't get the message!

Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein
Kim Novak!!! GAAHHHHHHHH Kill it! Kill it! #Oscars2014

Thales99 ‏@Thales99
@dan_bernstein There is a fine line between funny and mean.

@Thales99 There is no such line. That's comedy.

Why don't you call in with some Penn State molestation jokes?

I like how he believes he's truly funny. He's really not. The show does some goofy stuff, but Bernstein is not a "funny guy" off the cuff at all. Its painful when he talks himself into a joke on the show.

No, see that's funny too. Becuase they're mocking it. Its funny until the guy whose daughter was molested called in and started crying (on a sports radio channel btw)

See, I tend to believe in bernstein's premise as expressed in his tweet. The thing is, he so obviously doesn't. But he got called out for a tasteless "joke" and that was his reflex defense.

Yeah, there is no set line. I agree with that. But that doesnt mean every joke is funny.

He's not funny enough to make the "that's comedy" comment

Sometimes on here,a thought by one of us might get lost in the translation. At least we can explain it on here. Why does anybody bother with Twitter with opinions, wisecracks, etc. when you are a public figure? It's poison.

For all you youngsters out there regarding Kim Novak:

http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/fea ... vak-dating

The feared and hated head of Columbia Pictures, Harry Cohn, created Kim Novak to be his perfect blonde star, and with her performence in Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, she seemed to have fulfilled his dream. But, in 1957, she fell in love with Sammy Davis Jr., who, with his immense popularity, was breaking the race barrier of a firmly segregated entertainment industry. Sam Kashner chronicles the backlash against their affair, the alleged Mob hit ordered by Cohn which forced Davis to marry black singer Loray White, and the heartbreaking coda to the romance that Hollywood forbade.

Story has it that Sam Giancana had his goons take Sammy out to the desert and threaten to remove his good eye. (Sammy had a glass eye from a car accident)

I wonder if some of these little gems from Dan ever get forwarded to One Step?

I know Dan likes to comment on things other people say using "#fired" and I'm surprised people haven't done that to him.

That's really the bottom line here. I hate when Baffoe uses it too. You don't get to decide how funny you are, those receiving your attempts at comedy do.

Baffoe is 10 times worse. He really believes he's especially funny.

Except NO ONE else does. Not even in comments on social media.

He could have just waited and said the same thing about Goldie Hawn

The Oscars suck. I don't know how people watch that show.

Dan's just advancing the "smart/goofy/subversive" tradition of the Marx Brothers and Harold Ramis.

We were so close to going through the looking glass here:

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/03/03/ ... ign=533521

Quote:
Kim Novak Appearance On 2014 Oscars The Talk Of Twitter

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago-born actress Kim Novak’s appearance on the 2014 Academy Awards sparked a firestorm on Twitter.
Her name was also among the most searched on Google, Yahoo and AOL overnight.
Novak, 81, who may be best known for her starring role opposite Jimmy Stewart in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo,” had some difficulty speaking and her facial features appeared rigid.
The actress, who has battled physical and mental health ailments for years, presented the Best Animated Feature award with Matthew McConaughey, which went to “Frozen.”

The appearance immediately led to a series of snarky jokes about her face on Twitter.

Dan's tweet not included, though. Just some plebes.

Seems ripe for a "Lets mock people on Twitter making fun of a stroke victim" by Tim Baffoe

Did Dan berate the audience for not listening to them correctly?

Imagining them doing worse than drinky makes me cringe.

I'm just imagining drinky doing his "Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan" bit for about 3 minutes though.

I don't know why I thought they were in radio. Maybe because they looked like the Sklars.

2010 was also when the B&B ALS was in full force. Those were better days.
