Podcast transition. Bernstein is delusional. |

Bernstein feels the station was held back by North. His absence allowed 670 to shed it's "stupid" label and is now the "smart station". "Do not underestimate the power of a brand" |

The Score totally needs a Mike Northian village idiot. Dan is wrong. In fact a true sports village idiot on the air at the Score would instantaneously make B&B more listenable. |

You guys are getting B&B? I've got nothing but commercials for the last 15 minutes, and it's still going strong. |

I am glad North is no longer on the station, but Dans so far off on his opinion of North. If transition is going to have this much tension, they just need to kill it, because that was more uncomfortable than a Bob in Niles movie review |

They are just incompetent beyond belief. |

How exactly do you make it over HALF AN HOUR into your "anchor" show and not have someone realize the stream is on a loop of nothing but commercials? First class operation over there. |

I was actually looking forward to a Bernstein / Rozner show until I heard transition. Radio schtick or not, I don't think Bernstein realizes he's devolved to become more crass, classless, and, shockingly, racist than North was. Dan thinks he's branded the station as the "Smart Station", yet he does everything he can on his own show to discourage intelligent conversation. |

you know what's funny? i often listen to the show via the tunein website/android-app and for some reason i thought it was odd when i turned on the show at 1:07 and there was a commercial playing. "ok, the player lags behind a few minutes so i'll get an update soon" --- by 1:10-1:11 i was like "hmmmm maybe they ran late with a guest?" --- by 1:13 or so i was like "ok, so there has to be a white sox game being broadcast today and they're just starting or something?" by 1:17 i was like "lol wtf, this is fucked up" and by about 1:20 i finally turned off the station. at 1:33 i checked back with the station, this time on my laptop (as opposed to the android app) and guess what? commercial. i start writing this post with the eventual punchline of "well, this is probably better than the actual show come to think of it" -- at 1:37 i try again and i hear the dulcet tones of barry rozner. ahhhhh yes, indeed, i am at my radio home. NOTE TO ANYONE STATION/ISH WHO MIGHT READ THIS: yeah b&b is my usual appointment radio program, a habit that has been ingrained in me for ~10+ years now. and all of that bob in niles/park-ridge/whatever movie reviews and the social-justice-warrior crap (i.e. yelling at people who don't believe "there is no debate" re: vaccines and whatnot) has been steadily pushing me away from my default radio habits between 1-6pm. i know i'm a drop in the bucket and an odd one on top of that, but still.... y'all ain't infallible and i have this awful tendency of making new bad habits. don't make me a complete talkSPORT mark! edit: harry seaward beat me to the punch.... dadgummit. |

Baseball managers abuse umpires just as much, if not more, than college basketball coaches. They often shout obscenities at them, stick their finger in their faces, bump them, and kick dirt on them. |

Bernstein just showed how much a asswipe he is with the North comments. No doubt North is a bad guy, but without him, there is no Score. To continue to act like he is above everything is ridiculous. If Mitch had some balls he would tell Dan the movie review shit is done. On a side note, the show's big tournament of bad is unvailed today, and TB skips out for vacation, ridiculous. |

It's just a shame that something has to be as polarizing as Mike North for anybody over there to truly have a disagreement with each other and hold their ground. |

Recounting things accurately doesn't lend itself well to anti-Bernstein revisionist history; you're ruining people's fun. |

Personal attacks aside, this back and forth between the two shows is part of a legit radio culture war, no? Meat-ish vs analytics, sports talk that makes you laugh, vent, cheer, etc., vs sports talk that makes you think. I know these differences aren't always accurate, but in general that's what seems to be at stake here and in other differences the shows bring to light. It's unfortunate that one side is championed by one of the most insufferable personalities in my radio-listening history, but at the same time I think it's an important discussion. While I agree with many of the criticisms here of Bernstein, for me and I assume many others I think there is *some* merit to his side of the divide. B&B is done differently, it's not always done well (Penn State, Iowa coach, RadioMD, etc.) but they are different. I think Mac's show provides a good balance between the two poles, but B&B lean too far in one direction. |

Who at The Score besides Berns has a problem with North? Most of the guys who were there when North was there are gone. I like that it really bothers Berns that North is the reason WSCR is what it is & he just cant admit it. Fuck Berns & his ilk. |

Mike North didn't appeal to me, but before I got into listening to Chicago Sports Talk all day, every day, you know who I did know? Mike North. To say that their "brand" is better without him is ridiculous; it's simply different. North was the voice of the Score for a long time. There is still no personality as big or recognizable as North to this day. If it's because he was self-promoting, so be it. Bernstein tries to be self-promoting and to get his voice heard to a bigger audience all the time. North pulled it off (for awhile, at least). |

You'd have to know where each degree is from. |
