Thanks to this piece in the Sun-Times about the Blackhawks' use of advanced analytics, today's show will be dedicated to extolling the virtues of the Hawks, praising their front office's surfeit of Really Smart Guys, and applauding their fans for embracing a team that does everything it can to Get Closer To A Championship on a yearly basis.

I'm just kidding, of course. The S-T piece will get a brief mention during the Second Half, while the rest of the show will focus on more important topics, like Jerry Reinsdorf's courage, or the fact that everyone in the world except Dan is a racist. Enjoy.

Fucking Dave hit it right on the nuts. Second half mention of Lazarus' article about the advanced metrics that Stan and the other really smart front office guys are doing . It's great because it'll make for smarter hockey fans

God, I'd kill for the days when Bernstein was telling caller Ann that she was his soulmate "because I hate hockey too".

Now we are subject to Superfan Dan becoming the smartest hockey fan in the room within a span of 5 years.

I miss when Dan would just talk like a goof about Ivan Calderon.

His Churchill guy left the winner on his answering machine. He isn't going to check it until Sunday afternoon.

Dan is a hockey expert now because he talks hockey with the youth coaches. If I was those coaches I would tell him to fuck off, and go away.
