I still laugh when they mention the Bears' brass hating that there was a "quarterback controversy" last year. Such a pain when the backup takes over after an injury and plays really well.

Has lil Danny constructed the Jordan Lynch is not an NFL running back strawman yet?

Not just plays really well , plays at an historic level and better than the starter has ever played. Pretty sure it was they who were annoyed more than Bears brass too.

Cmon, dudes. Management HATES production from players.

Have you guys even heard of Joe Sheahan?

Bernstein: "Coming out of training camp, could Fales be the backup quarterback?"
ZZ: "Potentially"

What a great answer!

no stupid Jordan Lynch stuff yet? BUT Dan said he wasn't a pro player anyway...obviously has not made team..yet. So he is proved "somewhat wrong" and Terry is now backpedaling.

He said he wasn't an NFL QB, and he's not going to be playing QB. Sounds like he was right to me.

Agreed...I heard that and in January he said he was not an NFL player.

Agreed, McCown is in TB because he got offered a starting job with more money than the Bears could afford to pay. The Bears would have loved to have him back, I don't put any stock into either of these two claiming that Phil Emery was upset over McCown's play and the resulting praise directed at him.

Lynch has a fighting chance to make the roster given the lack of depth on the roster at RB. He may prove them wrong by making the Bears, but that doesn't mean he'll become a contributing player on the offensive side of the ball.

That's just dishonest and despicable. McCown was the better QB last year and these two clowns are loathe to admit it. Screw them and their dishonesty.

Perhaps the greatest testament of bullshit these two have ever embraced. Probably the kind of argumentative bullshit Bernstein has embraced most of his life but a sadly pathetic connotation in regards to where Terry Boers has evolved.

As long as you're inventing sources and "guys", you might as well invent crazy bullshit that they said.

Can you imagine how pissed the Rams Brass was when Kurt Warner stepped in?

Soooo annoying

I am sure they were happy they were winning, but the fact that McCown exposed the face of the franchise as pretty much a replacement level quarterback had to be a little bit tough.

There is a reason that McCown always seemed to go out of his way to act like he didn't even want to play.

My guy said Miller Huggins was furious when Lou Gehrig did so well replacing former home run champ Wally Pipp. He hated dealing with that first base controversy.

If ANY team ANYwhere is annoyed with competent play, they should just quit.

No, I know what you mean.

I mean, if the guy who replaced Ryan Leaf was great the Chargers GMs would be embarrassed.

It had to lead some unintentionally hilarious discussions though.

"Did you see what McCown did? I thought he sucked? That is why we cut him once. How is this happening?"

If they want their backup to suck why did they get rid of Nathan Enderle?

I believe the Bears COULD not offer Mc Cown a contract until something like July because Emery didn't pay him an extra dollar on his previous contract.

Still, he was not getting $10 million with a chance to compete here. I doubt he sees the second half of that $10 million from Tampa.

Chances are he's going to suck in Tampa Bay as well. Which to me is an even bigger indictment of Cutler that a career scrub could outperform him in the same offense.
