Our relationship is low stress because of grades and schoolwork. The days last well into the evening hours. Every night has the opportunity to do something fun together. I would not trade that time for any other life enrichment afforded by sleep away camp.

There will be a time in the very near future where we will all be apart and able to do our own things.

It must be some sort of traditional thing. At most when I was young you would go to scout camp two weeks tops and likely a parent went as well. Out here I zero kids that go to camp other than a one week or less sports camp.

I would have absolutely HATED being sent to camp as a kid, so I would never do it to mine. Though I'm sure some kids would love it.

All the Jewish kids I grew up with went away to camp. Generations upon generations attend the same camps. It's like family for them.

I really hate to reference anyone's kid but you can see the result of all of this 20 years down the line, unless the kids are strong willed and rebel against their father.

I think this "Dan is a terrible father" tack is pretty out of bounds. Maybe there are some decisions that seem strange to us, but it's hardly bad parenting.

I wouldnt call him a bad parent, but what SmarmLife said about some of Dan's ideals being passed on and the kid getting shit for them is accurate
