Is BernSTINE a soccer expert now? A real X's and O's guy, huh?

Hr also said, during transition, that leverage doesn't exist in contract negotiations.

Mr. MBA Lawyer, right here.

Ironically, JV soccer is the only sport he ever actually played. The x's and o's he knows are the only x's and o's he knows. He seems to be ashamed though.

The only Xs and O's he's ever known are the X's and O's he sees in his Alphabet soup.

I'm on the ESPN transition. Waddle is a mathematician.

This must be a misprint. If he actually feels this way, put me into the camp that Daddy Bernstein's extraordinarily generous donations got him into Duke.

If his dad's coworkers/friends overheard this gem, he & daddy will be the butt of jokes for quite awhile.

He said that the Bulls Leverage Plan means nothing because there is no leverage. One team has X amount of dollars and the other team has Y amount of dollars and that's all there is. He was very adamant about this.

I would nevet lie to yoy, Regular Reader.

But ue likes numbers! So he's a genius and will help spread the new religion to all the dumb people who think things like RBI and BA are worthless!

Bernsie didn't really do a good job of it but he meant Melo cannot use leverage from other teams to make his Knicks situation better. In other words there is no point in "using" the Bulls or Rockets to raise his Knicks position as they are fixed as to what they can pay him max and thats about it.

He needs a thorough and complete Swift-Boating. Nothing more overrated and blindly accepted than Bernstein's "intelligence." Separate him from his in-studio laptop, internet connection, and admittedly fast claws, what are you left with? He is fairly articulate for a tiny hebrew English-majoring troll... I guess.

Bobby Bonilla, Sam Zell, and Comcast would disagree with that sentiment. As would anyone with a functioning brain.

That goes by the idea that the Knicks are automatically going to offer him the max dollars at the expense of the team wiyh zero questions asked.

They don't have to offer him the whole farm...thus he is opting out and pounding the Bulls drum. Why is he doing this? Leverage.

BetnSTINES Duke degree apparently doesn't mean he can think all that deep.

He is dumb I was explaining what he rambled about. He was trying to shoot down the other's angle that Melo would give him leverage between Phil (less than max) and owner to give him max.

so in the first hour + segment i've missed Dan going out and proclaiming that all these USMNT bandwagoners are idiots?

What's his raison d'etre for this? Is it because Soccer is stupid bad (gay if it's pre-2008 b&b) and boring that these people who are bandwagoning the USMNT for the sake of reveling in a bandwagon are outright idiots?

....then what does Dan call his whole odyssey into the VIP boxes @ Hawks games? Or is that excluded because in between his spare time fixing the economy and curing the common cold Boy Wonder plays hockey, and therefore it's cromulent that Dan gets into the proper pro version of the sport to better understand it for his child? Or is it just because THE. BLACKHAWKS. HAVE. DONE. EVERYTHING. RIGHT. SINCE. THE. OLD. MAN. DIED. and thus it's "OK" to like them because THEY. WON. THE. STANLEY. CUP. ??

Ah well, while the USMNT bandwagon is pretty annoying (tho not nearly as annoying as the Hawks bandwagon to be honest) still tho, I guess I should remember that you have to be a station sponsor/partner/ratings-getter in order to get the Dan Beerstain seal of approval.

Also, who doesn't love being a Knick? Lord knows there's countless millions of children growing up who want nothing more from life than to be a Knick. DON'T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED, MY MELO MY MAN!

edit: I just heard the end of ZZ's 2:30update and the post-update-read was for some place that was "MY SOCCER [SOMETHING[" so like, shoot, is Dan going to have to have a mea culpa soon? HERE WE GO!

To sum up today:

US soccer fans are idiots who should go watch the Fire if they like soccer. Otherwise they are just flag waving morons.

Thank God Matt Bowen is coming up! I wouldn't know anything about football if it wasn't for him. Now everyone at the station can talk about the SAM linebacker.

Why are the equating MLS to World Cup Soccer interest?

They are trying to mollify the outcry the masses have over Hoge leaving and the related concern that The Score's collective football knowledge is irreversibly depleted.

Matt Bowen played football in Buffalo? I never knew that, Matt... tell me more. What was it like playing football in Buffalo, and furthermore how does your quintessential experience mirror that of kids in Bears camp?

Bowen is fine in small doses. but during football season, running him out there every day? no good.

USMNT band wagoners are idiots until Jason Bernstein starts playing soccer.....THEN it's okay because the senior columnist will write a column saying it's great exposure for the younger generation to become culturally diverse.

Also, you can take his Blackhawks Bandwagon column and apply it to the USMNT. As Danny would say "his view is old and his kind will die off soon."
