Quote: Dan Bernstein Renews Contract With WSCR-AM
Print Email Details Published on Monday, 09 June 2014 13:30 CBS Radio Chicago and WSCR-AM/670 The Score have renewed their contract with their popular afternoon radio personality Dan Bernstein on Friday. It is believed to be a multi-year deal. In addition to being heard on the air each weekday, Bernstein will continue serving as CBSChicago.com senior sports columnist. Dan Bernstein has spent most of his entire radio career with CBS Radio Chicago, which included his being a college intern with WBBM-AM/Newsradio 780. "Bernsie" started as a reporter/sports update anchor with WSCR-AM in 1995. Less than four years later, he was paired with Terry Boers on The Score and became half of the highly-rated "Boers & Bernstein Show." He has entertained, informed, and sometimes irritated afternoon audiences ever since. Bernstein has also done his fair share of sports play-by-play calling, first for Duke University while he attended the institution, then for a pair each of minor league baseball and basketball teams, and in more recent years, calling for DePaul Blue Demons basketball and the Chicago Rush arena football. The Chicago suburban native was once named the city's "Best Sports Talker" by Chicago magazine after he was voted "Best Reporter," "Best Play-by-Play," and "Best Talk Show" in the magazine's sports radio categories. While there is no official comment on Bernstein's new deal, since CBS Radio has a strict policy on not commenting on contract situations, his on-air partner Terry Boers happily leaked the news on Friday afternoon's radio show. This summer, three of WSCR-AM's top daytime hosts were up for contract renewal. The signing of Bernstein to a multi-year deal takes care of one of those three deals. CBS Radio is hopeful to come to contract terms with the other two hosts in the next few weeks to keep the station's strong line-up intact for years to come |

I've always held that he is a good and necessary part of the station but not the cornerstone. |

Is somewhat related news, Quote: Beardown Renews Contract With CSFMB
Print Email Details Published on Monday, 09 June 2014 13:31 Score670.com and The Chicago Sports Fan Message Board have renewed their contract with their popular message forum gadfly Beardown on Friday. It is believed to be a multi-year deal. In addition to being read on the each weekday, Beardown will continue serving as CSFMB's local sports media senior conspiracy theorist. Beardown has spent most of his entire radio message board career with CSFMB, which included his being a guest poster levying wild accusations against WBBM-AM/Newsradio 780. "BD" started talking smack about reporters/sports update anchors with WSCR-AM in 2005. Less than four years later, he elected to steer his white hot anger against Terry Boers and the highly-rated "Boers & Bernstein Show." He has entertained, informed, and sometimes irritated message board audiences ever since. Beardown has also done his fair share of second-tier sporthost namecalling, first for Laurence Holmes while he resided briefly in an institution, then for a pair each of minor league producers, and in more recent years, calling for the denouncement of the Atlanta sports media community. The Chicago suburban native was once named the city's "Best Sports Poster" by Tinfoil Haberdasher magazine after he was voted "Best Instigator," "Best Dressed," and "Stop Looking at Me" in the magazine's sports radio categories. While there is no official comment on Beardown's new deal, since Bigfan has a strict policy on not commenting on contract situations, his life partner Girl Chained to Furnace happily leaked the news scribbled on a paper airplane desparately flung from a basement window Friday afternoon. This summer, three of CSFMB's top daytime hosts and Boilermaker Rick were up for contract renewal. The signing of Beardown to a multi-year deal takes care of one of those three deals. CSFMB is hopeful to come to contract terms with the other two posters and Boilermaker Rick in the next few weeks to keep the board's strong line-up intact for years to come |

I then went looking for a bag/briefcase, walked down to Something New (The used store on Belmont) and the guy is listening to the Score and he tells me how much he hates bernstin, but likes listening to Mac and its a pain to go into the back to change the station. Yeah, I need a new bag, mine tore today. Went to Marshalls, saw one that looked great, had a totally used leather look, was all over it. $300!!!! I thought this MARSHALLS PLACE IS CHEAP! THATS LIKE REAL PRICES! |
