"I didn't realize Wade was this broken. Without any supporting cast what was Lebron supposed to do? As great as he is, he can't do it all by himself against this great Spurs team. Even though I've said repeatedly that "team" doesn't matter in the NBA, it comes down to who has the best player on the floor." Oh, wait, he won't say that. Sorry. |

Don't criticize the Heat, you guys. Quote: Dan Bernstein @dan_bernstein
I hope that those sourly relishing #Heat failure don't drown out those lauding the deserving #Spurs, who merit better. #NBAFinals |

Yup, but you cant have the plan of 3 guys taking all the money and then go with the ''dont have any help" excuse. |

I'm Appreciating Greatness™ Dan, don't you worry. And since when does Dan care that positivity drown out negativity, he fucking trades in that shit. That's some first class smarm right there. |

Dan (and many other commentators) position has been that you must have a superstar to win in the NBA. Who is the superstar for the Spurs? Duncan is a hall of famer but he's 38 years-old. What gives? |

Nobody appreciates the Spurs greatness more than I do, but that doesn't mean I can't sweetly relish in Miami's failure. |

The narrative for tomorrow's show has been written. Danny: "You are an idiot for enjoying the Heat losing instead of enjoying the Spurs' greatness in their victory. They ran a ton of stuff." Terry: "Yeah, I knew the Spurs would win." |

I am sure this will get buried in this thread, but they predicted the heat would have major trouble with either the thunder or the spurs. I called in trying to bait them before the playoffs started with a "no one's going to beat the heat" call, and they both predicted a major clash in the finals where the outcome would be in doubt. Let the record show. |

A good set of callers makes this about Michael vs James. Perfect discussion time. |

Takes. from Deadspin tomorrow afteroon: Quote: LeBron James had a stellar game in the first half, but as the Spurs broke the lead open, James was forced to disregard his shot selection and do anything he could to catch up. It really wasn't his fault, though. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh turned in horrendous shooting performances, and the bench provided jack. Shit. That might be true. LeBron had 31 points... |

Definitely not LeBron's fault his hand-picked superteam didn't give him enough support. |

Two questions...build around three superstars or build like the spurs? And is spoelstra a bad coach? |

I actually watched the last 10 minutes of this game & was thrilled with the outcome...but why was the best player in the league on the bench for the last 3 minutes of the game? |

Really? You're unclear why he sat? The game was well out of hand, so why bother and risk injury or some odd incident. |

I see it as less of a basketball question, and more of an unanswered problem in physics. How and why did space/time fail to bend around LeBron as his mind was processing the correct basketball play? Rest assured though if we ever prove string theory I'm sure we could find an alternate universe in which LeBron never lost in the finals and is undisputedly the greatest basketball player to ever live. |

I'm sure Ethan Skolnick will call in at some point to assure Dan that the Heat are still the better team. |
