This era of advanced statistical analysis and alternative sports journalism is supposed to mark the exposal of sports narratives out of step with reality, not the perpetuation of them. Never has this been more obvious, nor more shameless than yesterday, when Grantland published an apologia that anticipated and attempted to undercut any justified critiques of Morey’s disastrous offseason, and general lack of achievement.

I'm not sure how he even gets the minutes this season being the 4th big man in that rotation. I know he's considered a stretch 4, can he get some time at SF?

This was my thinking. Mirotic no matter how tall is the SF. Pau, Noah and Taj share time.

Isn't that the whole paradigm of the modern NBA, that these strict positions don't mean much anymore? Certainly they don't on offense. bernstein talks about height way too much. There aren't any huge space-eating centers worth a damn anymore outside of Hibbert maybe. Two inches only makes a difference if it's on your nose or your cock. Of course, you don't want to get caught in a mismatch on defense with some 6'4" guy guarding Nowitzki, but I'm sure a guy like Gary Payton could cover him better than most bigger guys anyway.

I can't believe they had to ask two guests in the same day why no one will tell the real truth, or at least the Dan Bernstein-approved interpretation of the truth, about Jerry Reinsdorf. Why didn't they go for a hat trick and have Ethan Skolnick on to see if he knew why?
