Did the old North show take emails quoting Marxist revolutionary writer Victor Serge?

It's the Ray Rice and Penn St. condemnation ad nauseum in lieu of a critical Bears and Cutler show. They're back to holding the corporate line again, saying nothing to offend the Bears. Even the transition segment didn't have anything about the Bears.

I can't listen to another word until Hub.

No time for Bears talk, but they just had plenty of time to talk to President of Chicagoland Speedway, Chris Haddock. Was hilarious though hearing Danny try to get his redneck on with the NASCAR talk.

did he sputter wins above replacement driver?

CBS radio is not an organization to turn down someone offering to pay for air time..... have you listened to a white sox broadcast, if a pitcher throws a fastball on a 0-2 count that has a sponsor read

Wow. Good strong takes by both Boers and Bernstein sharing actual inside information about the Bears and the relationship with Jay Cutler.

Now, we probably get Penn State for another two hours.

Basically that the "Cutler is a reformed stuff" started last year during contract negotiations when they basically told Cutler that he needs to be a better face of the franchise and was part of them believing that Cutler had accepted that. They were very upset when he basically went back to exactly how he is after one loss.

They were pretty critical of the Bears for thinking they could change him too, but also interesting that the Bears seem to really care about how he is.

Not only do I think the Bears are not bothered by Cutler I think the whole thing is a ratings troll. Really who cares about the poor media being treated like chumps and him making faces. Fans that worry anything but his performance are being a little goofy. Sooner or later the media and sprts radio are going to learn like other areas have that they no longer matter. The teams/players do not need to kiss their ass and ride with them on MLB trains and eat and drink together. Technology will make them extinct except only to print/say what is fed to them occasionally to work a narrative.

5 hours of Penn St and Ray Rice, brutal radio. If they want to be a National show, feel free and leave Chicago. Chicago lost interest in both topics probably the day after them. Quit acting like it affected your life and move on.

Interesting. It would fall in line with what Emery claimed to want in a coach. He was obviously not pleased with Lovie's relationship with the media; safe to say it was similar for Jay.

You CAN'T CHANGE CUTLER, MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY. Why can no one realize this?

Penn St. again?

So the college has done what was asked and got reinstated. So Penn St. has some clowns feeling Joe Pa got hosed.

This is news?

Tell me any fan base that doesn't believe their guys are innocent? The answer is quite simple. A person who cheered for a team their whole life does NOT want to feel they are cheering for a dirty franchise or person of the franchise. We know that there are bad guys in sports. This is quite the shocker.

It's simple, teams entertain us to make money. Fans spend money to be entertained.

If I want hard hitting news. I'll listen to a political station.

Penn State is not an evergreen. They've been flogged fairly in the past. They've won TWO times in the Tournament of Bad (State of Pa. and The Paterno Family.)

Let. it. go.

Berns wrote a Señor column on the remaking that wasn't of Jay Cutler: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/09/10/ ... -fizzling/

contains the phrase "have mattered deeply to his bosses" and a source described as "one privy to the thoughts of one executive"

Clearly someone with the Cubs is. I have no reason to believe that the Bears aren't going to do the same when it benefits them.

At least he put it out there in a way more permanent than 'my guy says' radio, I guess. I don't think a lot of people read his columns though, and we know they can't comment on them.

Yeah, I think he has Bulls 'peeps' too. They're hilariously biased towards ownership, but I don't think he's making anything up when he says this stuff.

But it's just wrong. bernstein was right a couple years ago when he said all that snarling and bad body language didn't mean a thing. It's all about on-field performance and nothing more. We hate Jay because he's a horseshit quarterback. Not because he gets snotty with Brad Biggs at a press conference. Cutler is who he is. Yesterday, someone posted a picture of him at Revolution Brewing. His wife and other friends all seem to be having fun and he's got that sour ass look on his face. That's him. And no Bear fans cares about that. We care about how he plays. And he sucks. People didn't embrace McCown because he's a nice guy. They embraced him because he played a run of games that was better than anything Cutler has ever done or ever will do in his career.

I don't believe they are involved in the operational side of the teams but in administrative functions. They are the original watercooler and giving the Bernsteins of the world information empowers them. That the source can be a staff accountant, special projects coordinator, an assistant to the assistant, or the building super doesn't matter. Unlike other former "investigative journalists" who've now moved on to other pursuits because an editor deemed their sources less than credible (or they grew tired of the stench), there's not such restraint for the shockjock.

Anybody with a career worth protecting wouldn't be speaking to him, anyone else is too far removed to matter. And while there are those truly in the know, those who suss out the information, they have nothing to gain by interacting with someone who won't properly reward them (monetarily or otherwise).
