In a weird way, I think Goodell's new domestic violence laws hurts NFL wives and girlfriends. I think they're gonna be less likely to call the cops now. Cuz we all know that the victims still stay with their abusers. Now these women know that calling the cops will mean their husband is out of the NFL and can't make the millions to support their life styles, they won't call.

Why are we even talking about this still? Rice's hitting of his wife after being spat at was a domestic dispute outside of football and the league isn't the moral compass for mankind, we know that. Bernstein loves his little witch hunts, especially when the NFL Commish is the target, but this is not going anywhere, no matter what Goodell knew or didn't know. He's not the perpetrator, nor is he a criminal judge, so why all the guilt by association? It's a bad story for the NFL any way that you look at it, and Goodell is trying to protect the league by giving it minimal attention. Understandable. The NFL was not at fault in the first place, and passing judgment on the conduct of players in their private lives extra-judicially is really not their business, nor should it be.
