Not sure who is supposed to start the show thread, so I will.

Some random musings:

- Dan will mention Slate or Deadspin multiple times each show. I like that he, as an arbiter of truth and justice, only ingests middle of the road, non-partisan content like Gawker sites and Slate.

- Spending an inordinate amount of time discussing Aretha Franklin.

BTW, every time they discuss music with Speigel, am I the only one that thinks that Speigel cannot sing? In his little intros about whatever guest is coming on, his parody songs feature a voice of a guy who can't sing - him.

Waiting for Dan to get on the 'flag for Muslim prayer' bandwagon with a heaping helping of Tim Tebow hate. Brace yourselves, men of the Knight's Watch - it's coming!

Terry properly attributed Loughery with seeing Jordan's greatness first instead of it being Terry that discovered it. Nice to hear. Terry in fact said clearly that before Kevin came out of Jordan's first practice that he had no idea how good Jordan was. Clip and save material.

Can't believe this - they are actually saying positive things about someone.

Saying great things about Paulie. Which is surprising. I thought saber metrics was supposed to tell Dan how to feel about everything baseball related.

Dan Bernstein @dan_bernstein · Sep 27

Son is too young to remember the slam or the WS, but PK could not have been nicer to him when they met. Great example to a young ballplayer.

So apparently, Dan's song is a 'ballplayer'. And a goalie. And in touch with his feminine side as he watches Project Runway. And a foodie.

Fantastic.

BTW, anyone know what Dan's contract $ is? Specifically, how much of that money is allocated for the therapy his daughter will surely need because daddy slighted her so much.

Paulie was just angling for glass seats at the UC from the future star of the Chicago Blackhawks.

a few weeks ago he called konerko one of worst 400 HR players of all time because he had one of the lowest WAR numbers

I hate you guys for pointing this out. Now I notice it all the time like a mole or something.

Dan does the 'my sources' and 'what my people tell me' in relation to EVERY topic they discuss.

Every time I hear The Plan, I think of JORR. Sounds like Phase III of The Plan, significant spending will not occur until 2019.

I'm thinking of JORR again. Dan speculating how good the Yankees would have been with someone slightly above a Replacement Player at SS.

Happened to hear some of transition today.

Back when I was young and foolish--well, foolish--and I used to listen more regularly to these idiots, I thought I had learned two things: (a) hitting coaches are completely worthless and (b) guys who did steroids and lied about about it are among the most vile forms of humanity on the face of the earth (see McGWIRE, MARK) and a close second are guys who hire guys who did steroids and lied about it (see LaRUSSA, TONY). Today, I could swear I heard some positive things and a potential upside of Manny Ramirez coming aboard as a Cubs assistant hitting coach.

Wha' happened!?

And here all along I've been telling anyone who cared that it was Terry who greeted Jordan at the airport but lost a wrestling match with the guy who would go on to be Jordan's driver and confidant, and that Terry merely beat him driving to the press conference.

Paulie knew better than to get on the wrong side of an a-hole shock jock with little good to talk about.

That was dumb. They have no problem saying Girardi "managed the hell out of them", but completely ignore everything Jeter brings to the table even when he is producing just .2 WAR. Further, Dummy dan acts as if each team has a box of "replacement level players" at each position that they can insert into the lineup at any time.

None of his sources can go on the record but by Crom and Mitre you better have a source that can go on the record, and that source would best be local and without a hint of an agenda.

The key to any successful event are the people behind the scenes, and the degree of fun the honoree is having. Of course some who are honored just don't know, can't know how to act or how to have fun. #Ihearteventplanners

I would have thought @SQNEvents put it on, but to my knowledge, Paul Konerko is not gay.
