You know the drill....

Will BernSTINE now praise Trestman after knocking him last week?
Will Terry say more that "yup" for five hours?

Post your answers here....

And a healthy dose of Matt Bowen sounding like a calm Doug Buffone while saying 'mmkay' after every sentence.

'That's called and X deep 9 spread pattern, mmkay. The safety is supposed to stay home and the LBs are supposed to be in a single high man zone gap read blitz wu tang clan formation, mmkay. That's the same formation we ran under coach SpurrierMartzTiceGibbsShoop when I played for WashingtonStLouisPhillyDallasGreenBayCincinattiAtlantaCarolinaNewYorkSanDiego, mmkay'

Thankfully Bostic is on at 5:00 so I can listen to music for that half hour. The guy is boring....

Dan is doing the obligatory 'international language savant' thing.

For example, most people say 'SAM-ER-AYE ' for the word 'Samurai'. Bernstein is every so cultured, so he says 'SAM-OOOH-DAYE' with the inflection. And now he just described the field as 'HOOOO-MUS' and not 'HUM-US' as we describe the delicious chick pea spread.

And possibly benched.

Yeah, he's brutal. As is Bushrod in the mornings.

What ever happened to Bennett? Why wasn't he renewed for this season? To be honest, it was tedious. He'd say whacky Marty shit and after 5 minutes the novelty wore off and I'd change the channel.

Surprisingly, Cutler has been the most interesting show/interview by far, among current Bears.

Bushrod is a cliche machine. It's actually quite impressive. It's like he has a bet on how many cliches, often unrelated ones, he can stick into a single sentence.

Give it a listen.

Bostic says the same stuff in between his pauses and ummmm's.

Who is this guy on B&B right now?

Horace Grant was the worst. Super nice guy, but everything was like 'well that's the way the cookie crumbles and every dog has it's day'.

Reminds me of the episode of The Office where Ryan gets promoted and literally speaks in nothing but business cliches - 'hey, this isn't a beauty contest. It's just lipstick on a pig. We aren't trying to boil the ocean. It's all about blocking and tackling and dotting i's and crossing t's'

Dan Durkin. Guy is an ex-player. Very knowledgable. Unfortunately, his voice sounds like a geeky accountant and not that deep athlete football player voice though.

Bernstein says it and is correct - most athletes - like most people in any professional, are very uninteresting and have little to say. There is nothing that an athlete can say that 100 other athletes haven't already said.

You don't pay RB's too much money because they break down? Then what do you pay them, canned food?

No. Forte will be gone by then, so why does it matter how much the Bears use him now.

Dan is doing the typical 'running backs break down so that means Matt Forte WILL break down'

Similar to how he says 'Brandon Marshall had issues with domestic violence a few years ago and he WILL hit women again'

Because Dan says so.

Exactly. The man is an idiot who masks that by being a bully.

I do like the jabs at the Gronk/Siragusa thing. Complete meatballs.

And Bernstein of course has to start on his Marshall obsession. And now they are criticizing Laura Okmin for saying 'bi-polar' and not 'borderline'. Honest mistake. Happens all the time.

I love how Dan has an issue with Marshall 'using' the media - which is probably a mix of Brandon's personality and a need for adulation and his desire to build his brand for the inevitable post football career (which he WILL have). Bernstein does this as he tweets about hockey 'paddles, 'The Kid' and Top Chef - incessantly.

And the 'little notebook' - why do they care so much? If Brandon Marshall is trying to do positive things in his life and be a better human being that DOESN'T hit his wife, then write away.

Same here on Sirigusa, I can't stand him.

I'd forgotten about Dan's jibe on Marshall. I would call in but I know I wouldn't win arguing with a guy who controls the mic...

If you made cogent comments, you would never get on the air.

Funny though, I noticed Dan's subtle race-thing. I'm not sure I'd call it racism, but more the 'subtle racism of low expectations'.

It's easy with any person with ears to tell if a caller is white or black. If a white caller says 'Jefferies' or 'we', Dan will correct them in that smarmy 'his name is Jeffery' way. He did it once today. Fast forward about 30 minutes later and a black caller not only said 'Jefferies' but also did the 'we' thing twice. No correction.

That's classic Bernstein. A friend of mine brought that up to me once and now I notice it.

Post subject:  Re: 10/13 - Bears Win?

This has been a show whining about the most mundane and peripheral. Dan Diehl is a rookie broadcaster doing local/regional games, part of a "B" or "C" team. So what if he makes a mistake or two, its what happens to even the greatest when they start out. The Forte discussion is just whining for the sake of whining, "their using him too much." Gee, what is the alternative, don't use your best weapons?

That's the " Subtle Racism," it's in contrast to his "Not So Subtle Racism" which is on display all the time.

I've noticed that too a million times. Danny almost never criticizes black callers, but will be the first to jump on anyone else.

I have no idea what "Borderline Personality Disorder" is.

I would not scoff at anyone confusing it with something people have actually heard of like bi-polar.

Is the Brandon Marshall hatred coming every day the result of the news conference from a few weeks ago? If so, why not just say that he hates people who beat up on women instead of these childish games of attacking him on anything he can (notebooks, playing through injuries, his media access, etc.)?

Last week when Bernstein was at a loss that an NFL star player would play through an injury, even when the doctors/team think it's better to rest showed me how ridiculous he's being. Just come out and tell us why you hate him instead of death by a thousands cuts.

Good point. Obviously, Dan has evolved yet again since Ray Rice and now needs to find reasons to break bad on Marshall.

Though, to be fair, most people would develop mental illness if wed to Dan.

From my experience Borderline Personality Disorder is more consistent than bipolar. BPDs are impulsive, damaging, unstable and reckless almost all the time.
