Marshall. Marshall! Marshall!!!

The lawyer coach who will go nameless but now considered without balls is because of Marshall.

There are no Captains, only men being grown, family men, and men off the street. Except for Marshall.

Don't blame the McCaskey family, they don't tackle people on the field or defend passes. Neither does Marshall and that's why he's the problem..

This is a game where on the professional level, its the reelly smart people who have reelly, reelly talented people listen to them. That's why Marshall is not just stupid but not that talented either.

The reason that Marshall doesn't play every single down of every play is because he's not that good, and that's a problem.

Jay Cutler isn't as good as we wanted to believe, Marshall's arrival is the reason why.

I wanted to be more mordant about the talk tomorrow afternoon, but Marshall caused me to ignore my thesaurus.

One or two might be paid more, most are payed less, but there isn't enough blame that can escape Marshall.

There isn't much that the coach can say that is worth critically hearing, but Marshall cutting a fart on the bus ride to the team charter flight home is proof of how toxic his presence has become.

This team set another ignominious mark in futility in a new record for points surrendered in the first half, and Marshall's failure to catch one more pass is the reason why.

Today was the kind of game where when the team made a successful goal line stand, the Pats were flagged for a penalty which allowed them score points. False start, that was the kind of distraction that Marshall creates.

I don't know if any of us could point to one major overriding reason for such a dismal failure, but the afternoon hosts will have a bye week to assess the more critical elements to the one appropriate target.

I can't think of a subject that they swung and missed on more than the Trestman/Emery really smart regime.

Trestman is going to PROCESS the shit out of that press conference.

It sounds crazy, no pun intended, but I wonder if Trestman and Emery in their panic to do something, will cut Marshall -- especially if Wilson's return from injury is close. I'm as big a Cutler hater as there is, but I'm starting to think Marshall is the bigger problem.

I would be stunned if they cut Marshall.

I believe that the phrase "turd juggler" deserves a small, unassuming trophy of some sort.

This'll be one where Berns goes "this is meatball, fun-bad territory. Everything is on the table. You want to say 'fire and passion'? go ahead" because, well, that takes much less effort than talking about what actually has gone wrong (and why they were wrong about it)

Well, at least Bernstein did a commercial making fun of himself. I'll give him partial credit.

hmm, I'll obsess over what Berns will say today (though not enough to really listen much)

Spiegel: <Bears thing>

Berns: Forget all that. Do you know what was the biggest story of yesterday? Oscar Taveras dying. Unfortunate, but worth noting that the Cubs have one less prospect stud to deal with in the future. You can be sentimental, but they have smart people there already calculating the impact on their rival.

(then I'll hope Terry comes in with a too soon drunk driving Cardinals joke, but that B&B show is dead and evolved, sigh)

How does cutting Marshall get you closer to winning a superbowl? If they're going to cut somebody, start with Cutler, although I agree Marshall is a cancer.

I'll bet you the Seahawks will trade for Marshall. Maybe give you a 4th round pick. Yeah, I know they got rid of Harvin cuz he was a bitch. But you'll get a honeymoon period with Marshall like we had here. And they need a WR.

I think the trading deadline is tomorrow.

Dan on the result of years of piss-poor drafting by Angelo & Emery: "It's why you trade for a QB a team doesn't want. It's why you trade for a WR a team doesn't want."

Essentially all true, but let's not forget the B&B show, along with 99.9% of all of us, welcomed Cutler to the team and danced in the streets when Marshall was first on his way to Halas Hall. Otherwise, this discussion is all as big a pile of hoo-ha as this team is.

dude, i can hear bernstein speaking through you here. live NFL games are about all group emoting en masse with relative/strangers and getting off on that while you have a view like those all-22s they toss around now. it's wholly one of those things you just do for the same reasons supermasochist bob flanagan did things like nail their dick to a board with 13 nails.... because i can.

Regarding Houston's knee injury.... Would it be appropriate to tell him to just rub some dirt on it?
I was just wondering about that.

Not true. See my Cutler versus Orton Argument thread. Orton now 3-1 as Bills starter, Cutler in the same period 1-3.
