This is the logic of the Rex Huppke column they're creaming their jeans over: I'm not watching the Wallenda thing because he might die, and people's hypothetical responses to his hypothetical death, which I am inventing right now, are distasteful to me. Dan is so full of shit when trying to differentiate Jason Kidd and Joe Madden. He tries to act as if Madden just woke up one day and said, "you know, I think I'll opt out and see what's out there". Didn't Danny even tell us that before someone like him opts out of a contract his representatives reach out through "back channels" to see what might be out there? With the speed that this Madden deal came together and the lack of rumors linking him to any other job you'd have to be an idiot to think Madden didn't know the Cubs would fire Renteria to hire him. Danny's attempts to distinguish the two is WYC worthy. |

"i am free of all prejudice; i dislike everyone equally" - w.c. fields with THE WAY IT SHOULD BE(TM) and btw man holy shit if you want any proof that wikipedia has an adverse effect on humanity look no further than looking up a quote like this via google and find all kinds of variations that have "i'm not prejudice/d" instead of ye olde english first part, and then the second part has often been upgraded to "i hate everyone equally" --- they say that the devil is in the details and given that the wikipedia effect has people inherently trusting the internet vis a vis television, people have taken the opportunity to paraphrase mr. fields and upgrade his dislike into hate for ends that are truly above my paygrade. btw i'm not gonna tease you guys by referencing the cover of "poor little white guy" and not dropping a proper CSFMB-enhanced reference  (i only have mspaint on this machine but i promise you someday soon/ish i will do a proper version of this that makes y'all proud) |
