Too football-y for a bye week...does anyone really care to hear 'around the NFC north' right now?

2pm - Jim Souhan*
3pm - Breathy DiNardo
4pm - Drew Sharp
5pm - Tyler Dunne
5:45 - Brian Billick

*(talking Timberwolves? Has Bernstein heard of Nikola Pekovic or is that a hidden white guy?)

Lazy that he is going to read the statement in its entirety. Why. Most people can get that idiot. Have a thought and talk.

People in the car possibly would want to know what he's talking about? Weird thing to be angry about.

Ok. I figured people want the news in brief and opinion and feedback. I did not consider the car folks. I find it lazy when he reads long pieces on the air. Just me I guess.

Danny sounded like he was getting a chubb while reading that.

haha, it did read like something a savvy businessman would write. I can only imagine how it was enhanced by Dan's diction.

Did he sound the way he sounds when he tells people how the Cubs front office laughs at you?

So where does Jim Hendry sit in the victory parade in relation to Edwin Jackson?

So Ricky Renteria is going to get a managerial interview before Ozzie Guillen. That's awesome.

  Man, this fucking bernstein is something else. He takes umbrage at the guy who says bernstein would be lauding Theo if Theo was a puppy killer, and five minutes later he's trying to make a case that Jackson was a great signing. Then he gets it all wrong anyway. And they're ready to argue and tee off on a guy who knows exactly how long Jackson has been a Cub when they have no fucking clue. And to say losing helped them get Schwarber? Ridiculous. Schwarber is a second rounder if the Cubs don't take him.

Did Terry really think he might know better than Gammons when Gammons said the Rays won 90 five out of six seasons?

No, I hate it when hosts read articles whole and I only listen in my car. Summarize it and tell me what you think of it, unless you're Les and you have to kill time.

100% imaginary radio. He literally said two different times that was not in any way his point.

It's not the slightest bit imaginary. Anyone else hear it? If not, listen to the podcast. He said an argument could be made that Jackson was a great move that resulted in Bryant and Schwarber. If you heard something else, you're the one who is imagining.

If Schwarber doesn't give you a chubb, then I recommend the Viagra/Levitra combo.

Anyone who says a signing was great because it helped your team lose and therefore get a better draft pick is an asshole, and not a sports fan.

I think there are moves you can make that enable you to do a proper rebuild and draft well, and those moves should be applauded. Starting pitchers who cost a fuck ton of money aren't those moves.

Did you hear him say it? Because I'm pretty sure my radio is very real and working quite well. Don Tiny may need some work on his radio or his imagination.

Terry's take seemed to be that signing a losing pitcher was great but that you didn't need to pay $50 million for him.

No, so I can't confirm that's what he said...but I agree that if he said it was a good signing it could only be in the context of helping them tank (which of course Epstein could not have known at the time of the signing).

Well, he did say he didn't think Epstein signed him to be bad, as he was twisting himself into a pretzel to give Epstein credit for the signing and subsequent drafting of Bryant which was not even correct.

So I guess no Samardzija comeback? Maybe we can get Peavy to lose for 5 millions year

Herb's updates were some of the worst I've ever heard. He was stuttering over easy sentences and would follow that with a "wow, that was a mouthful." Stick to your 20 minutes a week on Laurence's show. I'd rather hear Schuster
