This is from Larz over at Chicagoland radio and media...Sharks new hangout,,, I am posting it here since this seems to be the most used forum but it applies to ALL WSCR/ WMVP sections:

" For the first time in a very long time, WMVP-AM/ESPN 1000 beat its rival WSCR-AM/670 The Score in all of the daytime ratings for the two stations' target demographic of Men 25-54. For the "November" Nielsen radio ratings, which were just released this week, WMVP-AM beat its rival in that demographic for the all day ratings (Monday-Sunday 6:00am-12:00pm), the weekday prime time ratings (Monday-Friday 6:00am-7:00pm), the morning show, the midday show, and the afternoon show. Comparing show to show in the Men 25-54 demo, "Mike & Mike" (#3) beat "Mully and Hanley" (#5). "Carmen & Jurko (#5, 4.1 share) beat "Spiegel & Mannelly" (#15, 2.9 share). "Waddle & Silvy" (#1, 5.4 share) beat "Boers and Bernstein" (#3, 4.8 share). In the all ages demo, WSCR-AM still came out ahead overall and in most dayparts."

I don't know about any worms turning. The stations tend to go back and forth like this. For a while, W&S was well ahead of B&B in 25-54 men, then B&B came out ahead again.

It's unfortunate for Mannelly that he got stuck with someone as completely unlikable as Big Purple. Getting trounced by unflavored ice milk and a cut-rate Tony Siragusa is pretty bad.

seems odd. Usually the Score is strong in the desired male demo and ESPN gets the undesirables.

I'm a board member of the B&B ALS, but it's not good radio right now.

Not a bulls or bears fan, but the score feels like both of those franchises. Keep trotting out the same aging lineups thinking they can still win. I want to know how anyone with a brain thinks Mully and Hanley is working. Maybe Hanley can work with someone else, but Mully needs to just go away.

Mannelly isnt a draw. He was a long snapper for God sakes.

Mitch is really bad at directing programing.

midday ratings have nothing to do with the long snapper. This is completely about Grimace

Post subject:  Re: THE WORM HAS TURNED

It goes without saying that no one is tuning in for grimace. The point is nobody is tuning in to listen to the Snapper either. I don't think Manelly has a long term career in the radio industry. He's kinda like Trestman in that only the Bears would hire him as a head coach, only Mitch would hire the snapper as a radio host.

what? mannelly is awesome. grimmace is the one that is expendable. hes not terrible at his job, but hes just not interesting enough of a person to want to listen to.

manelly is very good. he just needs someone to pull the info thats in him out. if he was paired with dan mcneil it would be the best show in chicago.

Mannelly is competent and seems like a genial fellow, but I don't have any desire to listen to him do a show. How much of that is Spiegel miscast as a show-driver, I don't know, but I just do not and cannot care about that show at all. It's like an Ask The Expert segment that lasts four hours a day, five days a week.

y'know, I know you mean that to be disparaging, but I think that's exactly what the Score had in mind for that show.

And I don't mind the show, but it's just the bridge to get me to Dan and Terry.

thats why he needs a driver. i like his experience, and he is a natural talker so its easy to listen. but hes not a driver, and speigs is just a woman so its not working. mannelly needs a real host to work with.
