The Bears loss is an ancient memory. I predict Monday will be VERY. SERIOUS. RADIO. with the suicide of that Ohio State player.

A police report says his mother told authorities he has had concussions and spells of confusion. She said he texted a message Wednesday citing the concussions and saying he was sorry if he was "an embarrassment."

Only idiots would let their children play football. Maybe that's why there are no white DBs on his CH wine team?

Sounds like a pretty sad story.

He jumped into a dumpster and killed himself? Horrible.

(My autocorrect originally changed dumpster to Rumsfeld.)

He only played football this year at OSU. Was a wrestler before that.

You're thinking of the Curious Hair Whine Team, which conducts meetings in the Chicago Blackhawks folder, and the only member is me.

No more. It’s just not an intellectually defensible position, not since clear-headed analysts like Joe Sheehan and others have made such careful arguments against the capricious arrogance of the voter who wraps himself in ethical authority that was never conferred.

Bernstein's self-righteousness aside, I would hope that this incident changes Hawg's mind, that these stories of damaging head trauma from football, are nothing more than propaganda.

The day that Joe Sheehan is the unquestioned norma normans of anything is the day we should beg the government to hit the nuke button.

It’s just a museum, folks. For all the pomp and ceremony every year, it’s a plaque on a wall in a room in a building. It’s three letters under a signature that mean charging more money for participating in a memorabilia expo in a hotel ballroom by the airport. If you care too much, that’s your fault.

Dan is so obsessed with guys writing "HOF" on their signatures. And ooh, shots fired, Andre Dawson!

Terry has taken a strong stance that no PED users (Bonds, Clemens, etc) should get in the Hall of Fame, ever. He has kind of had the "capricious arrogance [of someone] who wraps himself in ethical authority that was never conferred". I'm curious to see if he stands up to Danny on this one. Sadly, I'm afraid I already know the answer.

Danny has softened his stance, or "evolved", when it comes to PED users.

Yeah, you know, with the way things are today, and I mean, look, it's just that you look at this and, ah, I, I, I, this is silly! it's silly! I mean I'm sure at one time, but now, I mean, move on.

Dan's not just now turned the corner on this one. He's been headed this way for a while. However, I don't think Terry will go down the road with him on this one. At least not on McGuire.

or maybe a Penn St. show, as I guess Dan had that screening over the weekend.

I also now believe Paterno's wins must be restored. They have nothing to do with child-rape, but can only remind us.

If he now evolves on Paterno it will simply be amazing how blatantly he trolls and disrespects long time listeners.

I think what he's trying to say, which I agree with, is that taking away his wins doesn't unring any bells and that more good can be done by leaving them there with the understanding that enabling child rape helped him get a lot of those wins. I suppose it's more instructive than pretending those wins never happened. Why the NCAA still thinks it can Stalinize history is one of the dumber things about an organization that has a lot of dumb things about it. Joe Paterno is an evil piece of crap who won a lot of games. Derrick Rose is a functional illiterate whose team won a lot of games. Those are things that factually happened.

What was always kind of backward about The Unhappening was that by taking away all the wins from after the shower rape, they were actually taking away a majority of wins that the rapist himself wasn't involved in coaching.

Eh, I'd think giant holes in Penn St. history would be more noticeable going forward than any generic 'understanding'. It's not like they'd reinstate the wins with a child-rape asterisk. Maybe they should erect a child-rape statue to draw attention.

This could simply be a "Perfect Storm" of Danny pontificating.... Barkley supports Ferguson Grand Jury Decision...

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Society/20 ... y-decision

A "black source" Danny went to regarding the Peterson case.

Good news, Danny and Terry are going to contact their Bears guys and find out what the hell is going on. Danny has a pipeline to at least 1 important person. Can't wait for the exclusive's tomorrow.
