And likely an unfortunate rise in Dan's front office sucking-off talk ... but one must enjoy the greater good with the lesser bad.

Both Chicago baseball teams are looking to win the 2014 Off-Season World Series.

Things will be said; noises will be made.

Things looking up for the Cubs and Sox; Hawks probably fine; Bulls may be fine; Bears will suck forever. You never know what'll happen other than WYC at 5:03 unless they need more time to talk about the 2014 Off-Season World Series.

Buy some bad wine. Talk to a questionable mortgage guy. Get a car from a weird Latino. We've been doing that all and more since 1913.

Things are going to start happening to us now.

It was meant to contradict itself. That said, I'm no Curious Hair so you can't reasonably expect actual greatness in a show write-up.

Here's some lyrics to help make things better.

A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We'll be clean when their work is done
We'll be eternally free, yes, and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

I don't need Curious Hair to tell me that WYC is on Thursday. Today is Wednesday.

I just want Opening Day to get here sooner so I'm trying to hurry things along by skipping entire days at a time.

I'm just replete with non-fixed glee, dammit; I'm all out of sorts.

I can't wait for Kerry Wood's Personal Services Contract that's in the drawer over there to kick in.

Dan talking about the Cubs makes me miss Penn State radio.

He wouldn't even claim to be a Sox fan (or a fan of any team), anymore, so I'm not sure what your point is.

My God does Dan makes every concept more complex than it should.

How can you short a team? Bet that they'll suck. Does that exist?

Yes, bet under the win total. Bears 8.5 was mentioned frequently in training camp.

No one could interview Tuff Hederman from the Cheyenne Frontier Days like George.

Kids would laugh at me today but back then in order to get a full sportsgasm you had to wait for Sunday night sports extra followed by The Sports Machine. I remember being amazed in my first few weeks of college seeing George as a local sportscaster

Imaginary radio. He claims to be a Sox fan, Bulls fan, and Bears "meatball".

He claims spastic meatball viewing, but also says quite often since 'he got in this business' he isn't much of a 'fan' anymore.

Haven't you made this mistake on a Wednesday like a half dozen times by now? My apologies if not, but I seem to remember this happening a day early several times over the last year or two.

He referred to himself as a Sox fan just this past season.

Bernstein is a little bit over the top about how good of a job the Cubs brass did in recruiting Lester.

They offered him $20 million more than the other finalist. Frank Coztansa would join the Cubs for an extra $20 million.

Dan,

Don't tell me Lester coming to the Cubs had anything else to do with besides giving him the most money.

The ironic part is that Dan has said that plenty of times that players go where they can get the most money.

The morning show joked that Ryan Dempster closed the deal.

That is not correct. They offered him (potentially) two million more than the Giants, who offered 7/168.

The Red Sox were the other finalist.

The Giants were eliminated already.

It was not about the money, it was about comfort...it's just that the extra money provided the most comfort.

Has Danny Woo Woo spent equal time on the Sox, because the Sox gained more talent with their two moves than the Cubs did with theirs. I would argue the Sox are in no worse position to be good next year and into the future than the Cubs.
