Am I hearing this right? What the hell are they talking about - Fox being unfair to Cutler? What was Cutler's QB rating in the 1st half against N.O.?

Claussen was clearly better than Cutler yesterday and his presence energized the team. He put the Bears in a position to win and didn't make dumb mistakes. His touchdown throw to Jeffrey was a thing of beauty. He had much more poise than Cutler and a better command of the offense.

I've heard enough already after 1/2 hour. Click. F you Bernstein, you Cutler apologist.

You should have watched the last two drives of the game.
He didn't put them in a position to win the game. The defense did, but Clausen didn't. Last two drives, down 6, a 3 and out with 3 inc passes and the next was an interception./

They were winning in the 4th quarter.

They were not winning on the last two drives. If the bears were in a position to win it wasn't because of their spectacular 14 points. It was because the defense forced 2 RZ INTs and a blocked FG and a shit ton of sacks and played relatively well despite a couple bad runs allowed like Bells TD and the 4th down catch by bush for like 12 yards or whatever it was.

Darkside if you watched the game and are actually putting the stalled last drive on Clausen, you're crazy. He hit receivers in the hands on two straight plays, both would have been first downs

The last stalled drive was an interception.
Maybe he could have thrown the ball better and you can't not catch it.
But again, Clausen is the only quarterback in the league that had receivers that drop passes so I guess he was awesome with his 150 some yards and 70 something rating.

Give the guy a break, he was playing with a concussion on that interception.

You keep going to insane extremess. No one said that drops arent a part of the game. Yesterday the drops were particularly awful and the drives you are talking about included 2 huge drops that would prevented a desperation heave on 3rd down.

Also, the balls hit the receivers in the hands. Both of them.

Did you actually watch the game?

Yes. Which is why I know that Clausen isn't very good.
That's not to say Jay hasn't had a rough season.
But Clausen isn't very good.

If you watched the game then you wouldnt blame Clausen for the last drive. Come on, man. He hit two receivers in the hands for first downs and they dropped em.

I believe Bernstein has made the whole thing up that Trestman has been fired. You can't make a claim like that and not divulge your source.

The only reason Bernstein is anti-Claussen and pro Cutler today is because the game did not follow his narrative that Trestman is fired, because Claussen played well and validated Trestman's reasoning for benching Cutler.

Bernstein sounds very over-the-top nervous today, because his job is in jeopardy if Trestman is not fired.

Agreed. That was fucking brutal.

If the league wanted to do a "Dont do this" video, they could use that one

These guys are absolutely hilarious today. Talking in circles, cutting off callers, dismissing anything cogent not fitting there narrative. What is their narrative? They don't know. They petend to simultaneously not understand what is actually happening but become instant experts with what anyone else might suggest. If you never listened before it might make sense but their spinning in ever tightening circles ends up making them sound addled, under the influence. Hilarious.

Jets hire Charley Casserly as a consultant. One less candidate for Dan's much-demanded Football Czar gig.

I wish they wouldn't turn down the volume so low on callers that start to argue with them. I can't hear what the guy is saying.

Bears rank 26th in passes dropped. 16. And that's after the 7 from yesterday, I believe....

Caller Tim with the serious resolve. They kept turning down the volume on him and he kept on rolling, calling out Beerstain and calling The Parrot "old man." Dan starts yelling, Terry tries the left field diversion, and Tim kept rolling. No, I didn't hear the game so I don't know the veracity of his claim but he steamrolled them. More hilarity.

When Ansah dove, Claussen was still running. When Claussen slid, his helmet was at the same level as Ansah's. They have to call a penalty when the helmets make contact, as the rules are stated, but that wasn't a cheap shot.

I just posted about this in the other thread.

That was super cheap. Any QB that slides feet first is completely off limits. He dove head first, and even lowered his helmet to use the crown right before impact.
Impact on Clausen's head.

It wasn't a cheap shot. When you dive to make a tackle, your helmet is going to make contact with a runner. They were at the same level at the same time, thus the helmet to helmet contact.

If Ansah dove after Claussen began his slide, then it would be a cheap shot. I have watched it thirty times. Ansah wasn't fined or suspended, so the league didn't think it was dirty either, and they can't wait to punish defensive players.

The Raiola stomp was cheap, no doubt about it.

He dove an dput his head down before Clausen started his slide.
