On today's show, the guys will tell you that they had been hearing Pace was the guy for several weeks, despite the fact that the last 2 shows were a breakdown of the imminent Ballard hire.

They will also welcome crack reporter Zachary Zaidman at some point so he can tell us that the Bears know exactly what they're doing. He should be on right after he gets his talking points from Halas Hall and swings by the Laundromat to pick up his Bears polo.

Listen to this show. Or don't, for it will be a bad show.

Sunny Bears optimism with only 55% chance of Shouty.

You know what Einstein said the definition of bigotry is:

big·ot·ry
ˈbiɡətrē/
noun
noun: bigotry; plural noun: bigotries

intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.
"the difficulties of combating prejudice and bigotry"

I think Bernsy is gonna form a Epstein-like crush on the W_Z-looking Ryan Pace.

bernstein was way off base yesterday in desiring of the bears to just throw pace out there by himself to answer questions.... wtf is wrong in hearing from george/ted about why Pace was selected....? I want to hear from those two goofballs as to why they picked pace over ballard.

It will be interesting to hear his views if Pace comes out and talks great Bears history, beat the Packers, etc.

for someone who tells us not to worry about ted phillips and that phillips doesnt meddle in to football... bernstein sure is concerned about what a GM says to the media.... if he panders to meatball bear fans who cares and how does that affect his ability to do his job? He is a wannabe PR/spin doctor.... in addition to wannabe real doctor

Don't you remember when Emery was the original object of affection for management because he used Pro Football Focus analytics and was transparent in his approach?

He'll just keep insisting that Ted is not involved.

Great optics! It was Ryan's day!

Great optics !!!!

Ted said a short statement and got out of there !!!!

Dan completely ignores the Teddy "Ryan reports to me" statement which goes against his previous stance.

Even got a "He. Is. In. Charge."

Here's a place where we could have used Spiegel.

It is literally impossible to have this reaction to that press conference. What were they listening to?

Thank god I didn't tune in for Leary and just watched it on CSN. I didnt even know he was on.

"Ryan reports to me" will be ignored or shouted down today.

Doesn't fit the narrative.

Love two hear two guys who loved the Emery pick now bashing him. Teary with a "Why would you like Phil Emery?" You tell me, Terry. You sure did.

What GM doesn't report to the Team President or President of Football Operations?

His title is GM.

Why are people surprised about this?

There's always a layer between GM and Owner.

HOW IS RYAN PACE AT THE MESH POINT?

Also, its downright confusing with all their made up sources. "Well your guy said.." "My guy said.." "Terry's guy..." and none of it makes any sense.

The entire issue is that Phillips uses his title to leverage final say over football stuff, and puts people like Ryan Pace (a gullible minion) in place to keep his own ass safe. Football and Teddy should be separate.

Because if he is complete control of football operations, he shouldn't have to "report" to an accountant. I'm still trying to figure out what he would report to him about concerning football.

If he's reporting to Bill Parcells, I'm totally cool with it. Not Ted.

That is my attitude. Ted is his fucking boss so what. A lot of overreaction here today. Also a lot of mistaken takes on his nervousness at his first ever presser. He wasn't a boob.

Then, that's the case everywhere else in the league. People are reacting this way because in the past Phillips has been involved in football decisions. All reports are saying he's not anymore, I'll believe that until I see otherwise.

By Pace reports to me, yes, if the Bears win 12 games over the next 3 years, someone needs to fire the GM.

Exactly. Nervous, absolutely. He didn't say synergy or growing men or toolbox. Off to a good start.
