Man, Bernstein did the cracker coach like he does drinky.

Afterwards Bernstein said he had no reason to want to root for the success of the University of Illinois. I guess he only reserves that for the guys he buddies up to at Northwestern!

Yeah, it was really embarrassing for Beckman. They gave him every opportunity not to sound like a dumbass and he couldn't help himself.

Listening to this interview, Beckman does sound like a boob, but by no means was it because Bernstein or Boers made the guy look bad, "becky" sounds like he lacks some basic intelligence and really shouldnt be a head coach. At his best, he would sound OK.

Really a nothing interview that the Score made a big enough of a deal like it was a major happening.

So do you think the Illinois Athletic Director sat him down today and asked him "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Or is it just something where the AD knows the coach is a dumb ass cracker, knows the coach will never understand why what he did was stupid, knows he's gonna fire him after next season anyway and doesn't even bother to talk to him?

Or does the AD also know he's fired and thus has a "Why bother attitude"?

I think they are happy. They're like DePaul, running a mid-major and freeloading off the conference's name value.

This is somewhat true. I don't believe the Chancellor and Board give a fuck. They had to go small and cheap with Timmy Lasagna because of all the buyouts they were still paying. But I'm sick of this shit. Any half competent coach could have this school contending for the B1G West.

They should have never cut Zook loose. It was a classic case of Illini fans thinking the football program is more prestigious than it is.

Zook got solid recruiting classes every year and coached them for shit. But he'd get you an outlier good year 1 year out of 5 just out of luck and talent.

The guy had two winnng bowl seasons in a row for the first time in school history and got fired.

That's as good as you're going to do at Illlinois.
