...with Gorman's Dan will lie, Terry will often unwittingly agree, and Laurence will cackle in a completely phony, over-the-top way. Have fun with that. |

And with that, we finally get to the bottom of why Dan is so itchy about JRW: people in Chicago are using the same tactics to get into "the really good" neighborhood schools where they don't belong. |

Think I mentioned before, but I heard that they are so strict at Oak Park River Forest HS that school officials will randomly pop up at address listed for the student to make sure that they really live there, since it is a really good school just steps away from the Austin neighborhood. |

Unless they are wrestlers. The greatest high school in the state is in Oak Park. It's on Washington Blvd, not Scoville Ave. |

I didn't live at my suburban address for over 1-2 years before they discovered we moved to Chicago. It was two weeks before I graduated HS. |

So they're really doing this, huh? 2 days in a row of a who-gives-a-shit radio? This is up there with the CTE and Penn St garbage. Couldn't keep the BS Pau Gasol and Thibodeau narrative going? |

I'm conflicted about this whole JRW thing because on the one hand, it seems there was some cheating going on. If your league's boundaries are X by Y, you can't suddenly declare them to be 3X by 3Y, especially if that overlaps with other established territories. On the other hand, does Little League have specific rules as to the density of a league's population area? I have to imagine that different leagues across the country (or world) draw from vastly different sized pools of talent. So in the end, JRW may not have had much of advantage (if any) over the teams from Philly or Japan. |

OPRFHS had a problem with out of district students years ago. |

"Where they are from is critical. That's why it's different." Dan is really being provincial and tribalist about this. |

Curious Hair wrote: "Where they are from is critical. That's why it's different." Dan is really being provincial and tribalist about this. And I'm not sure about the rules and how they are enforced across the board. There are all kinds of leagues that do shady stuff. Putting all the top kids on one team and have them play a ton of games together. All kinds of shit. Nobody ever raises an eyebrow. But suddenly when it's an all black team there's a hue and cry. That's why dan should shut up about it. He doesn't know. What if these kids got their start playing in JRW and moved out to the suburbs. Can they stay in the league where they grew up playing with their long time friends and teammates. I don't know what the answer is. But taking a hard line doesn't seem to serve anyone but some crybaby losers. Finally, Terry is so fucking stupid. I, I, uh, uh, I thought something was funny, just, look, again, they were just tooooooo goooood, I knew it couldn't be true. Hey dumbass, there's a team that wins the thing every fucking year and it's always a good team. It's not like JRW was some kind of unbeatable Secretariat. In fact, the team from Vegas was probably better. |

I think all schools do that (if they have kids trying to get in). Doesn't really prove much, besides most parents are smart enough to claim "homelessness" and just go where they want to. |

I think we have a faction on this board that is so rules based they see a parent trying to get his or her child into a better school as being "evil" or "cheating" rather than recognizing the evil of the disparity in schools that drives people to do such things. |

If I were an adult who gained information that there was a districting issue, I think I would quietly inform Little League so that they could progressively monitor these things. No one gains from a public denouncement. |
