Did he just insinuate that the care taker murdered Ernie? I think he did.

Because he said he knew Ernie's health was failing. And he was shocked to learn that "heart attack" is what killed him. This came off the heals of them discussing the care taker getting Ernie's will changed.

Why would that be shocking? 80+ year olds often die of heart attacks.

Plus, it was declared a heart attack. I assume by an autopsy. I mean if their was foul play, the cops would have been involved, right?

Post subject:  Re: Bernstein on Ernie Banks

Wait. It's the care taker that wants him cremated, right? I see. She wants that done so there can't ever be an autopsy. Maybe there hasn't been one done. Maybe Bernstein is right. Caretaker murdered Ernie Banks to collect on the will that she had Ernie change. She had to murder him before the kids found out she had Ernie sign a new will. BITCH!!!!

Post subject:  Re: Bernstein on Ernie Banks

If Ernie had the will changed properly, it would have gone to an attorney. I will assume a long trusted attorney who had modified the will a few times over the years and this change had to be questioned by the attorney...

All sounds shady, but legal. Unless the caretaker has some professional license or oath that is to be upheld under some fiduciary level of trust?

And if you want to say Ernie was given a blue pill, got a handy and blow an O ring in the main engine, then say it.

HTF does he know beyond what some Cubs flak repeated to him? Which wife (I understand 4) and which attorney did he talk to? Or is it just some open deal where attorneys share client information? Son of a lawyer he ought to be ashamed.

Anyway, Bernstein hinting at the possibility of an Ernie banks murder is a big deal. At least I think so. I always consider "murder" a big deal. Shocked by the lack of reaction from you Cubs fans.

Boy that Bernstein is something. He's always in the loop on everything Chicago sports. From trades, strained relationships in front offices and even murder. The sports people can never get away with anything in this city. Bernstein always get it.

Ernie was such a great guy he needed to spread his love around to four wives and who knows how many other "caretakers." Funny what defines somebody as a great guy.

inneresting. Looks like he's been married once and has four kids with her. I dunno if he is a good husband/father but if so this would far eclipse anything he did playing baseball or taking steroids.

And you know nothing of the circumstances. Maybe some of the marriages were mutual partings. He was not a deadbeat dad that I know of. He never physically hit any woman that I know of, hey marriage doesn't work sometimes. So I may make a suggestion that you just shut the F' up unless you have some more concrete evidence to back up what a bad guy he was.

So Ernie's son was quoted as saying he finds the fact that the caretaker wants him cremated to be "suspicious".

So why hasn't an autopsy been done? Does the caretaker have control of the body? Obviously not or he would have been cremated by now. So why doesn't the ex wife and sons get an autopsy or at least inform the police of their suspicions?

He was estranged from his children. He was divorced by four wives. You cannot tell me that the rejection by those closest to him, those who really knew him, doesn't present red flags.

"He died in the company of his beloved caregiver, to whom he recently willed all his worldly riches" is not something I would wish on my obituary.

He had four children, two boys, two girls, one of them adopted via marriage. His sons were at the funeral and one gave a eulogy, Joey. So explain to me the definition of estranged.

On the other hand, there are guys who were lower than scum that were faithful husbands.

I guess maybe Marriage record, like baseball, is not the best and only way to judge such things

Being a "trailblazer" in his sport (in addition to a HOF career) doesn't count?

I'll judge on divorces. One divorce is fine. Once you have two divorces, something is wrong with you. And if you have 2 divorces, don't get married again. Those are my rules.
