Long time no listen, and holy crap. Here is what I was greeted with:

DB: Isn't the Rolle, is there some backstory to the Rolle family?
TB: Yes. (muttering) I don't know (even more muttering) but that's not a, uhhhhhhhhhhhhh
DB: It has to do with, like, a Bahamian ...
TB: Yah, it was something like that....
DB: A Bahamian slave owner. Wasn't it?
TB: Uh, yah.
DB: Some benevolent, Bahamian slave owner, right?
TB: Mmmmmhmmmm!
DB: Some incredible story. Was it a Sports Illustrated story....
TB: Yah, it was a Sports Illustrated story.
DB: And all the Rolles were disproportionately ....
TB: (interrupting) Antrel was the center of it, right?
<silence>
TB: I wanna say, it's been a little while back, that he was at the center of it. Talkin' bout all of 'em.
DB: Maybe. And even ESTHER Rolle. The ACTRESS.
TB: Correct.
DB: It.
TB: Yup.
DB: It gets back to the Bahamas. And it gets back to some incredible backstory. And Myron was the Rhodes Scholar. Right?
TB: I think so. Yah, uh, yah, it's been, it's quite a story. It, it it was a story that I'm not, uh, y'know it was so interesting yet so complicated. So when you look at it and go "oh, I'm startin' to get it now". They're all Rolle Rolle. There's this Rolle, there's another Rolle.
DB: Their look, too. They all have the same nose.
TB: Yah, and you go 'wait a minute'. And there it was. Yah. But I think Antrel was the centerpiece of the story. Or maybe not. Because Myron was the smart one. I, I, don't know. I know it was a terrific story.

WHAT IN THE HOLY F IS THIS DOING ON THE AIRWAVES? HOW DOES ANYONE DO A SOUND CHECK OF THIS SHOW, HEAR SOMETHING LIKE THIS, AND NOT CALL A MEETING? WOW.

He is off the cliff and will not be pretty in the end. He should call Roe to see the future.

I don't understand what any of this is about. Does someone have a browser extension that translates Dan's cryptic bluster and Terry's half-assed stammering into plain English?

Can't speak for Terry, but Dan used the phrases "benevolent...slave owner" and "they all have the same nose," which is pretty easy to parse as far as I'm concerned.

The only question I have is if Dan is at all aware of what a shit show this has turned into? I get the ratings are good, and his bosses are happy, but do you think he ever listens back to exchanges like this? He's not a dumb guy, but it's stunning to me how the increasingly more senile and lazy Boers has actually influenced Bernstein. Can you imagine how much fun these guys (in their prime), or the Heavy Fuel Crew, would have while hearing a snippet (from some other show) like I just transcribed?

It's too bad. Their brand of goofy comedy has been absolutely negated by their pretend sources, need to be the constant voice of truth, and absolute disdain for their listeners and just about everyone else.

Also: really dumb to keep playing along that they have just "not heard" from Bob. That's the narrative you want to paint, asshats? That you just lost touch with the elderly nursing home resident that you mocked and used as a clown for YEARS? Stay classy, B&B.

Try ESPN AM 1000, they are at least mentally invested in their own show. TB must have had his lunch with the crusts cutoff being served at his house, thus the focus was elsehwere.
