The biggest joke of the day was B&B lamenting the lack of critical TV sportscasters in Chicago of Chicago teams, when they have Zach Zaidman as their main Bears guy. |

Yeah, when they went on about there weren't any local news sports guys in the town who'd have anything to say if given a few minutes I laughed. Giangreco would certainly say something entertaining. It might be fun bad entertaining, but he's always fairly opinionated on S+W. Since that's oppo B+B he's not worth mentioning. |

They were focusing on the TV guys. Last tough TV guy like Weigel and Bill Frink? Otherwise the broadcasts know dorks like us get our shit elsewhere so they just give the basic info. Not sure wtf they want just because they got some dud from Dallas today? |

no, seriously... An independent voice won't be heard with Comcast here in town. Anybody too critical on TV? Nobody has any other editorial or investigative skins on the wall to be that outspoken. Aren't we still waiting for Larance Holmes to finish breaking his four Bears training camp stories? |

Bernstein asked Boers whether any of the past greats would have done it? Boers couldn't think of any. I have to think Johnny Morris from CBS was that way. I don't think he was afraid to pull punches when interviewing Ditka or whomever. Am I right on that? That was a long time ago. |

Wonder how Dale Hansen would've felt if he knew he were talking to a couple guys ( make that one guy and a parrot) who applauded the Bears for signing noted woman beater Brandon Marshall a scant few years ago because of his on field ability. |

He wouldn't back down to Ditka but I don't really recall breaking scandals or other dirt. |

As I listened I thought the same. I should crap them for that as well as their initial Cutler love. |

They only remember what they said or a previous indicated stance if it helps their narrative. |

It's difficult to be critical of anything since we entered the golden era of GMs. I want to look smart, so I agree with everything they do. |

The nightly news is not sports talk radio. They simply report the scores. |

I hear Giangreco beign critical about Bernstein, without naming him. And isnt Bernstein critical about people that have been fired or left? |

How can any sportscaster be critical when B&B have all of the top super secret sources locked up? Its best to just go with the happy talk else B&B one-up them with their direct pipeline of information. I mean, everybody else tends to actually come into contact with the athletes and speak to them directly while B&B go one better by talking to their sources who know the reel truth. |

Talk like that might end in an altercation if someone who's "known to throw a punch" happened to read it. Tread lightly. |

If anyone was critical in Chicago, it was the Sportswriters on TV. Nothing has since come close. Those were the greats. What they did in an hour show, it takes B&B to do in five. Even Telander was good then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zQawwdOWlU |

IF they were just to have him on to give updates on the team and health issues it would be fine... but to ask him critically breakdown faults or problesm with the team during the season is asking him to do something he literally cant do.... so the net result is ZZ rambling on for too long and not anwsering the question after 3 minutes of incohherent rambling |
