I digest B&B exclusively in podcast form, and will give a download when there's a good/interesting guest on. It could be a small sample size, but it seems in the last few weeks there's been a lot fewer guests. And these matter less to me, but do they even have regular 'hits' anymore? http://podcastrss.play.it/670-the-score ... p3_128.xml http://podcastrss.play.it/boers-and-ber ... mp3_32.xml Part of it is they don't put their interviews in the separate feed as often as the midday show or M&H. Bad interns, not maximizing #content. But just looking at the main feed (of which the hourly descriptions are a treat, I wonder who writes them...they're basically 'hoo boy you gotta hear our shitty callers!'), in the past week it's been 2 guests: Scott Miller from Bleacher Report and that sportscaster from Dallas who is against woman-beating (huge stance in Texas, to be sure). In a cursory digging of the feed farther back, there are a few guests peppered in there but honestly 'West Side Mike' matches their volume. Like a lot of other issues with this deteriorating show it could be just laziness. But Dan presenting himself as not only the ultimate moral but now informational authority can't help either. Why get someone else on if they're just going to reaffirm your perspective, or have the same information you already 'sourced'? Especially when there's already a co-host to do that? |

Hour 1 Today the guys had transition with Spiegel and Mannally and took stupid calls. Hour 2 Today the guys talked to Ethan Skolnick an explained to clalers why the Beats are ready to contend now. Hour 3 On today's show the boys explained that if you disagree with Garpax your an idiot. Hour 4 Zach Zaidman joimed the guys for a Bears report from Halas Hall and more dumb calalers agued with Dan and Terry. Hour 5 In the final hour ot the show the guys talked about the Blackhawks and used clever lsnaguge to talk arounad PAtrick Sharop's alleged infidenklity. Lawrence Holmes joined the boys to explain how the new anchor gril on fox 23 could get it. Finally the gracelessly coasting nephew of a major sponsor of the show tried ot put somde mp3s on the internet. |

Why get someone else on if they're just going to reaffirm your perspective, or have the same information you already 'sourced'? Especially when there's already a co-host to do that? Could it be that many of their guests have "evolved" to understand the stances and positions that the show (read Bernstein) takes and realize that there is little room or lattitude for discussion or an opinion that isn't in sync with theirs? Could it be that some of the past "regulars" (i.e., Art Thiel or Patrick Roycee) have come to see Terry Boers less favorably than a cheap imitation Ed McMahon? Could it be that guests who are approached have learned enough of the show (or are quickly informed) that they aren't/won't be the expert on any given topic? Could the few remaining "spors journalists" who acknowledge them realize that they are moving into a new genre of sports media (Terez Owens) which undermines their own legitimate efforts? I recall a few years ago when Dan Wetzel (Yahoo Sports) was a guest and PSU/Paterno talk came up and Wetzel wasn't in lockstep with Bernstein. That weekend on his radio show Wetzel talked about how the narrative has evolved and broadened with the few exceptions of those on either fringe. Wetzel has not been on their show since. |

For years the main focus of the show has been Dan's speculation and mind reading about what players, coaches, and especially management are thinking and their reasons for their actions. If they had these people on as guests and simply asked them what their plans are or what their reasons were for doing A, B, and C, there would be no need for all of his speculation and mind reading. Having guests on would kill the format Dan wants for the show. |

Guests suck. Nobody is ever willing to speak their mind or have anything interesting to say. They can fuck off and lick the taint of ESPN. |

Hour 0 Dan makes his daily tribute to sweet lord satan and promises to do his part to end the careers of those who haven't made their tributes lately. and quite possibly Hour -3 Dan works out in a gym where no less than 5 people look at him funny for his bringing the phrase "big black studs" into the chicago sports radio vernacular lexicon. |

They lost a lot of guests when they couldn't get every person in Miami on to say "Lebron James is pretty awesome, right?". |

This downslide has been coming for some time now. This recent bullshit or TMZing up the Sports Radio seems premeditated from the response of doing it once and has become the show of idiots. |
