A goldmine of classic B&B audio from a time when the show was running on all cylinders. Notable:

- The Score's fax machine is peanut-butter-jelly-timely accessible at 312.245.6072.
- Join the Score's live video chat. Hello, creepy people!
- Or visit myspace.com/boersbernstein
- Dr. Abbott will take you to the Thanksgiving day parade.
- At 3:45, a foreboding harbinger of things to come.
- The original, "happier" intern sound. DAHT! DAHHHHH
- "I hate gay people" and "I am not gay, I never have been gay" are on the Quote of the Year shortlist. A show that had yet to evolve.
- 11:15, ooh, the old Scoreboard Update bed.
- 13:45, one of my favorite Score clips, Ed O'Bradovich and "Something just flew by the window...I think it was a spaceship!"
- 14:02, whoa, the original pre-SHAKE THAT Laurence Holmes theme! I heard this played during an Ottawa Senators game a few years ago and geeked out.
- 15:55, a bunch of bad Cubs anthems, including Devin Hester's "let's win a win" and "root for the Harveys," Kellie Pickler, and Andy Pafko. And some of you monsters want to replace this with a tape!
- 27:30, a Best Drunken Broadcasting Of 2007 competition between a drunken Rick Sutcliffe from 2006 (MATTY!) and Bernie Kosar calling Brady Quinn's preseason debut, where Browns fans assured us that Bernie wasn't drunk, he just sounds that way.
- 35:40, the inaugural Dick Stockton award. Adolfo Soriano, Angel Pecan, Brewer/Ranger Derrek Lee, Rodrigo Ramirez. And they didn't even get to Julio Jorge.
- 38:00, Suzyn Waldman barely edges out Mike Gundy for QOTY.
- Stay tuned for Chicago NFL Live with Doug Buffone and Hub Arkush :( and call in tomorrow for Blackhawks tickets circa December 2007 if you dare.

To original organ sound for the intern!

That's actually the first thing I noticed when they moved to they studio. That and the show got even worse.

it's truly sad how the mighty have fallen. we went from "ritalin diddlin and country fiddlin" to entire shows dedicated to graphic descriptions of child rape. someone get me an adderall!

btw it's nice to know that i can cede the presidency of the goff fan club every now and then cuz man that's a full time job right there. there's only so many family members i can use to get to him (for.......?)

when did he actually join the show? IIRC wasn't he originally referred to as "jason george goff" like a serial killer? dubbed "the most dangerous producer in america" akin to "the greatest story never told" or "all hail the king" there seems to be a lot of hyperbole going on, you know?

i just found out bernie kosar is blaming his nfl concussions for his slurred speech not him being a drunk

http://thebiglead.com/2014/04/24/bernie ... mmentator/

Quote:
Bernie Kosar will be replaced in the Cleveland Browns preseason broadcast both by Solomon Wilcots. The former Browns quarterback has struggled with alcohol in the past and seemed to go overboard on criticism during a game last year against the Rams. But the Browns haven’t turned their back on Kosar completely.

The Browns are in discussions with Kosar on potential new roles, which could include segments on ClevelandBrowns.com, Cleveland Browns Daily on WKNR-850 AM, and the Browns Radio Network. Kosar also could be part of the pregame telecasts for preseason games.

Bernie Kosar, lifelong Cleveland Brown.

UPDATED: Via ESPN:

Kosar said he was fired because of his “slurred speech impairment, which is a direct result of the many concussions I received while playing in the NFL.” Kosar also appealed to the team and station to reinstate him.

Nah, that was a good one. It was just such a tight field, the QOTY equivalent of the 1976 Oscar for Best Picture. "And we'll all go home happyhappyhappy" would have made the shortlist in lesser years.

But yeah, Rongey winning with that sucked. It beat out something that I thought was as sure a winner as there's ever been...but now, like Red Kerr, I forgot.

EDIT: oh, no shit! it was WINT!

That's good stuff right there. Too bad they evolved into something else. They would never laugh at Tim Hardaway's "I hate gay people" drop, let alone nominate it for QOTY.

I remember the first day they got that audio. They probably played it a hundred times. See, they could embrace the absurdity of erstwhile NBAer Tim Hardaway petulantly announcing "I hate gay people!" and have it be understood that they were laughing at him, not that they themselves hated gay people.

And the stuff with Larry Craig, wow. That was a day. Different times indeed.

Tanny should just come in Monday, turn off the mikes and play the first 14 minutes of this show live. What a great snapshot...

I use Pidgin and run gchat through it so that I can have the good old AIM interface but actually have people to talk to.

I can't believe they were still taking faxes all the way into 2007. Even then, I thought it was CBS being behind the times. I mean, this is the station that was like "we are now officially STREAMING on the World Wide Web, wow!" in late 2006.
