Larry: Hi ya Uncle Teary. It's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really great to do a show with you. I'm soooooooo excited!!!! Did I mention that it's really, really, really, really, really great to see you, Uncle Teary? Uncle Teary: Yes, Laurence, about 10 times before we even got on the air. Larry: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Uncle Teary: For the love of God. 5 hours of this shit. Larry: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. You're soooooooooo funny, Uncle Teary. Uncle Teary: Fuck. What the hell is wrong with you? |

I think I finally figured Terry's story out. He's always talked about how he got married young. At 20. Larry just asked him when he had his first kid. His answer was 20. I think Terry knocked her up and then had the "shot gun wedding" to make it right. |

today's show has been a surprising listen. Terry has opened up about his life in a way that I'm not sure I've heard before. Just keeps going on and on...this surely points to a life adjustment for Terry quickly down the road. |

Is Bernstein and Holmes in our future, once Teary hangs it up? |

But I think if they want him to have a partner, Bernstein would have a say, and he would pick Rozner. Bernstein prefers to be with Jewish guys. Cuz it's the correct religion. |

Bernstein solo would complete the Mike North career path for him |

Bernstein will have a say in his partner. But he would never admit it publicly cuz larry and drinky would be pissed at him when he chooses Rozner over them. Although they would probably know it without him saying it. That he wanted Rozner over their asses. Drinky will resent bernstein more when he's producing "Bernstein & Rozner" knowing that his boss didn't hook him up. Bernstein will sense the extra resentment and not care. He'd actually enjoy it. |

Rozner is awful in a boring way. Lawrence is awful in a "how bad is this gonna get " way. I lean to Lo HO |

This is a time to be thankful we chased SHARK to the shallow waters of the Larz board, because he'd be in here saying that Laurence Holmes has been guaranteed the afternoon show on the Chicago sports-talker whether you like it or not. Dan going solo (or "solo") would be the logical progression, as North and Francesa both did. |

Just looking at it from his bosses perspective. They know he's the dominate voice of the show and the station for that matter. His opinions are repeated by all of the other shows anyway. Bernstein needs a puppet/yes man if he's gonna have a partner. If he doesn't have one he'll embarrass that person when they dare go against him. So why bother giving him a "Puppet/Yes man" when he can just do his thing by himself? What's the point of having Larry there saying "That's right, Dan" or repeating Bernstein's exact words for 25 hours a week? Let him go solo. Book more guests and I guess we'll just have to accept that drinky will jump in more to say stupid things and tell bad jokes. |

Dan going solo was always pleasant, but that may have been because those shows were generally either over the holidays (do callers and hosts even exchange slurry "Happy holidaaayyyysss" anymore? I don't think they do) and thus intrinsically easygoing, or little 45-minute tossoffs before/after Sox games. Five hours a day, five days a week of unbridled Bernstein could easily be the worst thing that's ever happened to Chicago radio. |

Well, Terry is done after the Super Bowl. He's made that pretty obvious with all of his hints. So they'll know what they're gonna do long before that. Hell, it's probably already been decided what's gonna happen. |

Got a kick out of the guy who called and said that the Bears could win the SB even with a "serviceable" Cutler, because after all, Cutler is better than Jim Plunkett at the end of his career, and he won with a SB with the Raiders. The obvious flaw in that argument is that the Bears don't exactly have a juggernaut at other positions that could carry a mediocre/average QB. I give credit to Terry for not being persuaded and actually giving credit to McCown for the offense's success in 2013 (though he did call it a clown show of jump balls ). |

It's going to be super-awkward when it turns out to be Dan going solo and Dan takes time out of a broadcast to thank Rod Zimmerman for making the right choice and not giving someone else a job. |

If he is still in his sixties, that isn't really old in today's working climate. |

No. That picture of he and his wife at Christmas reminded me of the scene from Season 1 of True Detective where the murderer and his sister were "making flowers". I thought he said he would spend his days at the track and never watch another sporting event. |
