I have never heard a man who gets more sheer joy than Bernstein does out of saying "rape" and "alleged rape." It is truly an odd thing. He says it with a certain inflection, almost like a kid who is swearing for the first time. He loves the word rape. It is strange and uncomfortable radio. I'm sure he thinks he's furthering some social agenda by not shying away from the word. It's actually just strange, especially from the man behind #boobgate.

is that what it is? i remember first discovering the rose rape news in the trib sports section (as there has to be like ~10ppl annually under the age of 75 who actually learn about BREAKING NEWS! from a newspaper in this digitally bygone era) on a friday that ended up being the day that the illinois football coach got the axe so b&b were all about that, and then the next week i dont remember them talking about it at all, but then again my old 75-90%+ listening ratio is way way lower these days.

my dad says he remembers bernstein talking about it "last week" or something to that effect, but does that mean they talked about it that thursday b4 it was on the trib sports section front page on friday morning? or did they talk about it next week while i wasnt listening (and shame on me!)

Admittedly, I haven't followed any of the details in the Derrick Rose allegations, but it would seem completely unlike Bernstein to not go-all in with the alleged victim. Why hasn't he done it in this case? Has there been any information released that would make the allegations sound sketchy? I know some have accused Bernstein as being a racist in his past critiques of Rose, but I don't know enough about the actual Rose story to know if there is anything to it.

At least in the Kane story, there is a timeline, etc. that could prove out against Kane although it's completely irresponsible to say pretty much everything he has said so far.

Spending as much time as he had on this story, combined with making the accusations he has made, this is his latest social agenda. He really needs to consider a weekend job on MSNBC. I certainly have no interest in his social/political comments.
