iner than any of you three douches Did anyone else hear transition...er line shit yesterday? Larry decided to wax poetic on journalists and the use of technology. He also accused yet another black man of holding others down (as he did with Tommy Williams and others in the past). Dan responded with some psychobabble that journalists feel threatened by those without journalism backrounds because people no longer have to go through traditional routes to have their voices heard. 1. Everyone interested in sports knows Wilbon and nobody knows Sir or Dan. This has been true at every point in their respective careers. He does not fear internet twats taking his job. 2. Wilbon was a very well respected writer before he became a well liked entertainer 3. I am sure being on ESPN had nothing to do with anything Dan, of course, personalized it because he does not have formal education as a journalist. Day late. Nobody cared yesterday. Do you care enough to comment today? |

Larry literally gave me a headache with his yelling. I had to turn it off. BTW Wilbon really sucks. |

Better than three douches on the Score isn't saying much. Wilbon is a delusional , self-important putz who think's he's a lot more relevant currently than he actually is. It's not 2003 anymore. |

It sounds like whatever broader point they were attempting to make was garbage, but Wilbon's opinions are so wacky at this point that I suspect he's senile. |

Does anyone know where Wilbon is from? I've heard him on with W&S several times but he never mentions it. |

It's not 2003 anymore. I don't turn on ESPN unless they are broadcasting a game or 30 for 30. I've heard him occasionally on Waddle and Silvy but that seems more like a guy just sitting in to shoot the shit, like they do with Giangreco. |

My favorite Wilbonism is when he uses his Chicago background not just to act as an expert about Chicago sports, but for all of the Midwest. "Tony, I'm a Chicago guy, a Big Ten guy, a midwest guy. And let me tell you what I know firsthand about this Iowa-Iowa State rivalry..." Also a big fan of how you can tell when he knows nothing about a particular sport because he'll shout even more than usual. This is usually the case with boxing, tennis, soccer, the Olympics etc. |

dolphin going to bat for his fellow Iggy's alum! I was just looking at the list of Notable Alumni from Gordon Tech. If good dolphin had attended Gordon, I would say he would be the fifth most notable alum behind Bill Meehan, Gregg Bingham, Jason Gedrick, and Tom Kleinschmidt. |

What about Dave Dietz? |

What about Dave Dietz? Dave wasn't even the best quarterback in his own family. dolphin is much more notable as a highly respected downtown attorney. |

He was a real nice guy. Very quiet too. |

The Sun Times had some freshman at Gordon/De Paul as a top freshman in the state. I am kind of going to bat for Wilbon because Sir and Dan couldn't hold his jock career wise. However, I think their is a bigger discussion about people who hope to be true journalists versus the people who throw stuff out there to entertain. Dan, the guy who quashes all discussion from internet creeps, acted as if the internet is some egalitarian place that rewards those who write/report well. |

I'm just glad to see it still be called Gordon Tech, as opposed to Depaul College Prep or whatever it's called now. |

Well, it does reward something. I think what dan should really reckon with though, is that he has much more in common with us Interent cretins than he does with those who have actually been educated in journalism. |

Wilbon has definitely slipped since his role with ESPN changed and he stopped writing for the Post. Maybe for about three years before that. I remember when he was a young beat reporter for the Post and Chet used to have him on every 3-4 weeks during NFL pre/regular/post-season to talk about the NFL. At his journalistic prime, which was right when PTI started, he was insanely good. The Tribune tried to bring him back to Chicago and offered him two buckets of money a year, but he was still loyal to the Post. Instead we got fucking Skip Bayless. And Wilbon is a Big Ten guy, in that he's a trustee at Northwestern. What Wilbon is saying about fake journalists and bloggers, however, is fundamentally rooted in truth. That dumbass Baffoe got all indignant about it in some piece of excrement that crossed my FB feed. But while he's getting indignant about it, he's admitting that he's writing while delivering pizzas. If he was serious about his gig, he'd get his ass to a game more often. Instead, he's just part of this generation's version of Mike Fucking Murphy. |
