They were especially bad yesterday, like the ones calling for the Bears to try to get a touchdown on the last drive instead of a field goal. Yes, Gould has had his troubles, but historically he has been automatic from that distance. Why would you even think about not going with the 3rd best field kicker for accuracy of all-time?

Liked Terry's spirit yesterday. He was more fiery than he usually is, even spatting with Bernstein.

It's a shame these guys aren't bigger on the superior college basketball.

I find it odd there is so much angst over a basketball team that is tied for the conference lead in the loss column. I thought regular season games didn't matter but lets spend a whole show on a loss anyway.

This has always been a big part of Dan's animus toward the Blackhawks: their success is an obstacle to easy-peasy shows of nerding out over the Bulls.

Top four teams in the Eastern Conference all have 7 losses. Oklahoma City is 3rd in the Western Conference and has 8 losses. Mavericks (4), Clippers (5), Grizzlies (6), and Jazz (7), all have 9 losses. Houston is the current 8 seed and has 11 losses. The regular season matters obviously.

I agree. Bernstein generated narrative designed to hide the fact that he really doesn't watch many NBA games. Pepper with a little CBA talk, use a few catch phrases like "action", "stuff', and couch it with analytics talk and you will trick just about anyone.

If regular seasons don't matter why is it that the #8 seed has never won an NBA championship. I can't remember the last time a No. 4 seed won anything either. Its usually the 1 or 2 seeds from either conf. Your champions typically come those positions. I wonder what would happen if anyone dared to point this fact out.

Wolfey he's referring to how Bernstein likes to use that "Regular Season doesn't matter" narrative.

"8 seeds don't win because they're bad. If you're good enough to win a championship, you'll get a high seed without trying."

Why is it naughty for Dusty Baker to say (something like) blacks and Latinos are where one goes for speed (e.g., no whiteys), but it's fine for Dan to say he'd never draft a white running back?

Don't know if that's Bernsteinspeak or yours but my reply to this is simply related to assessment. If the regular season doesn't matter then how can one really ascertain which teams are good and which ones are bad?

I dunno, but I recall seeing a good number of elite level baseball players of all shades who had/have real game speed, so if Dusty's sticking to that one, he's wildly wrong.

Bernstein's just being Bernstein. Full of it as usual. If I were confident that he physically can take the pounding, I wouldn't think twice about drafting Christian McCaffrey. The kid is a baller. Once Fournette returned to earth, McCaffrey also became THE college player I'd pay to see play.

I know. That last sentence was sarcastic. I don't think the regular season matters. I think it's dumb to talk so much about one loss but they do a radio show for 5 hours a day.

This game doesn't matter but the regular season matters. There is a difference.

Mad Buster, that was a Ditka pick. Upright running, no shiftiness, no burst, weak hands. Except for the hands he was a Ditka clone.
