Joakim Noah's been dead for two years, and you know this. Good guy, but dead guy. Things will be said. People will listen and lie about it. Unrelated, Bulls on WGN at 2pm. |

well, you can't disagree with that. Except I hated the guy's game from jump. Expect FF and RFDC in this thread soon. |

I can only guess (because I can't listen to guest-less Bulls thoughts from these two) that the Noah injury is truly unfortunate for John Paxson, who surely was going to make a trade before this news even though they haven't done a meaningful deal in 5 years. What would you have done?!?!? |

Last time watching the worst shot rotation since Mario Elie (or Mitchell Wiggins) play for the Bulls. Go be screamy for someone else. |

I think it's really unfortunate that Noah went down, as it will probably make it more difficult for GarPax to now make a trade for a wing. And if there's one thing their history has indicated, it's that they'd definitely have gotten such a trade done. Oh well, I guess Bulls fans will have to settle for one of the if not the best free agent signings of last offseason in Mike Dunleavy Jr. |

Still waiting for FF to admit I was right about trading Noah at his peak value about two years ago. Even if he wasn't injured the argument was you're stuck with an admittedly very valuable but limited player who at age 28 or 27 back then wasn't going to get better than what he was. |

You don't have to be better than teams that don't qualify for the playoffs to make it. Not exactly a clean analogy but here's a try: I don't believe the Broncos are better than the Steelers just because they sent the Steelers home this year. The redskins made the playoffs but that doesn't mean they were better than other teams who didn't qualify. |

Happens every year and maybe it will be the Bears. |

Noah is one of my five favorite pro athletes ever, and I'm not ever going to say I would have liked the Bulls to trade him. I'm also not going to make a logical case that keeping him was a better move. Noah is awesome, and I was him to retire a Bull. I realize he probably won't. |

They've been to the playoffs with Cutler before, and close at other times. Don't see why it's so unreasonable to think they can't contend for a spot next year. Fox and Fangio know what they're doing. |

In any case I think your position is that you have to suspend reason to not see that the correct move is to trade highly limited players when their value is as high as it's ever going to get. Understood. |

There's very few LeBrons and Kawhis out there who excel at everything. Noah was great at what he did. That game 7 performance on the road against Brooklyn was him at his best, and there weren't many players in the league better that year. |

Using the 'Skins as an example is a poor analogy. Someone had to win that division. You're relying on a lot if you aren't better than the Packers and Vikings. |

Well I was off for the holiday and doing some things here and there. So I sit down and turn on B&B thinking maybe some Bach talk but hoping for a few segments on the Hawks phenomenal play and streak. No lets read down the list of 50 point scorers in the NBA no one cares about. |

That game 7 performance on the road against Brooklyn was him at his best, and there weren't many players in the league better that year. Not insulting him. He's an all time fave of mine too. I don't agree with you on the highly limited thing. In most cases what gets you paid is being able to score. Wallace, Chandler, Noah, etc are the exceptions. All are highly limited in that context - they can't score, they can only do two things (defense plus rebounds) and they do it well. In general yes I'd pay a guy who is like that, but if I can get someone slightly more versatile with lesser but still comparable numbers at rebounding or whatever, then yes I'd trade that kind of a guy. Just having to account for someone who can score while on D makes opposing offenses look much better. Despite Noah's excellence his limitations on offense exacerbated the Bulls' scoring issues during the Thibs era. |
