The Bears caught virtually no blowback from the Urlacher offer (especially since he ended up retiring)...whereas now they open themselves up for criticism if Forte has a solid few years left. (And I'm not really a Forte fan...I just think that if nothing else, the Bears are showing a lack of respect by not even making an offer that Forte can try to use to get a good deal elsewhere.) |

Correct. But it's still a 7 year deal. It often amazes me how little drinky knows about sports. I don't expect him to know everything, but something like Cutler's contract, he should be aware of. I'm also shocked that he chose broadcasting as a profession when he can't speak. What's more shocking is his bosses allow him to speak. |

I know it's off topic. But where the Bears couldn't find any takers for Cutler last year, I'll bet you they would have 3 or 4 teams offering a 3rd rounder for him this year. Probably a 2nd rounder if you have that many teams competing for the trade. |
