Bernsie has inside info that the Bears wanted to avoid an Urlacher situation with Forte. Needed the break to be clean. Drinky taking an adversarial approach to Bernsie. Hope he can keep it up.

Don't quite understand...so instead of making a potentially insulting offer, they decided to make no offer?

Pretty much but he needed to talk to his guy to know that.

Bernstein is full of shit. The Bears caught virtually no blowback from the Urlacher offer (especially since he ended up retiring)...whereas now they open themselves up for criticism if Forte has a solid few years left. (And I'm not really a Forte fan...I just think that if nothing else, the Bears are showing a lack of respect by not even making an offer that Forte can try to use to get a good deal elsewhere.)

Urlacher did publicly pout and stomp around until he realized nobody would give him more than the Bears offered, didn't he?

Yes, I think so...but I can't recall any outrage that the Bears didn't offer more. From a PR perspective, I thought it was a rare win for the Bears--apparently DB disagrees.

Dans full of shit, he's speculating and attempting to pass it off as fact.

Hearing Abattaclueless speak is like doing a nitrous balloon , minus the tunnel vision , I feel a lil bit dumber after hearing this dope.

Really? Dan telling the story of a guy buying 5 valentine gifts using his code. Including his sister and mother in law.

Who the hell buys valentine gifts for their sister and mother in law? That's kind of weird. In fact, the sister and mother in law should be creeped out.

By the way, drinky just asked if this is Cutler's last year of his contract. No drinky, he's going into year 3 of a 7 year deal.

it is my understanding that after this upcoming season the bear can cut cutty with minimal cap implications for the rest of the deal

Correct. But it's still a 7 year deal. It often amazes me how little drinky knows about sports. I don't expect him to know everything, but something like Cutler's contract, he should be aware of.

I'm also shocked that he chose broadcasting as a profession when he can't speak. What's more shocking is his bosses allow him to speak.

I know it's off topic. But where the Bears couldn't find any takers for Cutler last year, I'll bet you they would have 3 or 4 teams offering a 3rd rounder for him this year. Probably a 2nd rounder if you have that many teams competing for the trade.

A second or third rounder for Cutler is career suicide for whoever makes that offer to Chicago.

Think about the Rams. Jeff Fisher would absolutely make that trade right now. Cuz if he doesn't have a QB this year, he's fired anyway.

Well if he wants to get fired before the season starts then he should make that deal.

The Rams have already put it out there that they want Peyton's worn down cracker ass. They sure ass hell would take Cutler over him if it's possible.

That's my point exactly Dave. Bernsie couldn't just start talking about that in tranny. He had to make it more special about him with bullshit. He might as well work for PT Barnum he is a shill.
