Are you insane?

This morning M&H were talking hockey with Peter Gammons!

Mully: Well make sure you Score Dont hit the post!

Is this show's atrociousness indicative of a divide between sports "talkers" and sports "writers"? I don't hear Randazzo that much, but when I do I sense a smoothness that I don't hear at all from guys like Mulligan, Boers, and even Bernstein. But I assume 670 keeps guys like Mulligan because of his name and stature, even though he isn't a "talker" in the way a lesser known guy like Randazzo is. Is this at all somewhat accurate?

they keep mulligan because M&H is performing well ratings wise and has been for a long time....

the eddie O interview from yesterday was weird, eddie seemed really out of it, he obviously had just woken up prior to getting on the phone.

mulligan is really annoying

Popped this on this morning, and despite the posts here ole Hanley is up to his same stupid, whiney, jokes.

"So what did you do between the end of the game and coming in to start this show, this morning, Barry"

"Slept at Grant Park"

HANLEY: "Slept in Grant's TOMB!"

It's so embarrassing...dare I say MORE embarassing that even the MNMS....that this is the main morning drive time sports talker in Chicago.

Hate to say it because ESPN radio is as bland as it gets, but I think there's no question Mike and Mike is the better option between the two morning shows. Greenberg can be a pleasant surprise sometimes when he gets serious about particular topics, and I don't mind Golic that much. He's certainly more useful than a guy like Boers, but that's a different topic.

Yeah the Jets/NY thing gets annoying, but I don't mind hearing about major national stories from time to time. I'm usually not in the car that long in the mornings anyway, if at all, so my exposure is quite limited. Although I don't know if my fondness for Mike and Mike is really driven by the show, or by the absence of Mulligan.

Its been Hanley and Seacrest the last few days, and the show has been actually pretty damn good. I used to think Hanley with the bad jokes is what dragged the show down. He will still have an unfunny quip here and there, but he dials that back immensely when Mully is not there. Mulligan is the biggest problem with this show. Get his fat ass out of there and Hanley with somebody else has a real chance at becoming one of the best shows in town.

Mully brings a nefarious and show killing vibe to everything.

A dark cloud of death follows him where ever he goes.

Outside of his "all the vancouver/northwestern/(insert another fandom) people hate me" thing that Rozner does, he is excellent.

Better than most on the station

Last Thursday and Friday Rozner and Hanley insisted that there was no way Boston could recover from the 3OT loss, that it was a spirit-crushing defeat. Today Rozner was expressing amazement about the degree to which people (not him) overreact to early games in best-of-seven series.

Should be impossible to have a terrible show after a Chicago team wins a championship. But, seems like Mully never backs down from a challenge. Mully is just insufferable.

Its like he ratcheted up the "comedy" because he felt there was a bigger audience.

Found it after one dumb Mully sentence. ESPN is actually giving real effort to beat 670.

Would it have been unreasonable for them to have stayed until W&S came on? Jesse Rogers and Freddie Umbro...displease me.

Oh, and totally agree how it should be damn near impossible to have a bad show after a Chicago team wins a championship but they managed to do it (and I suspect Bernsie will give it the ol' college try). It's almost incomprehensible how bad Mulligan is at radio.

Yeah, they're alright. I like Greenberg. I feel he's held down by the lameass framework of the show. Golic isn't horrible, but he's even more hindered by the framework than Greenberg. All in all, it's a bland, but not horrible, show. M&H is horrible.

Wow. So there's the obligatory Aaron Hernandez murder charges talk and they talk about how they gotta talk about other sports and Hanley chimes in "did you see that Alexei Ramirez error? Speaking of murder... Brent morel is back"

And trust me in this one... it wasn't said in jest with an obvious aura of sarcasm. It was played straight.

Take it from the guy who knew that the recent Jericho/Punk match elicited chants of "this is awful" in a PPV match that had too few !!! spots between lots and lots of great holds. "It built the drama to tell the story" my ass. Go watch Punk/Jericho KOTR 2009: way more dynamic/innovative match that didn't have pwtorch.com wondering 2 weeks after it if the CM Punk character or Phil Brooks is disinterested in wrestling lately.
