How is it they are allowed to play that sound drop every morning as they sign off, about Aaron Rodgers being implicated in a murder?

That has to be slander. It's one thing when a reporter misspeaks (in this case he was supposed to say Aaron Hernandez), and I'm sure the error was corrected at the time. But this drop is being played intentionally, every morning, and is not being corrected.

I would love to see this pursued. Must it be the actual party being slandered that can sue? If so, should I start by contacting the Packers organization?

Make sure to mention in the lawsuit that it's a 1.5 Hanley joke.

If even that. Is it really that funny to those guys that it's worth playing every day?

I know it's hard to get a slander judgement when it's a celebrity, and you have to prove a loss. At best there would be a cease-and-desist, I suppose. That would still be worth it, except we'd never really hear about it.

Parody exception.

Really? That sucks.

Maybe someone can publicly parody Mully and Hanley every day. I can think of a lot of angles there. They might not like that so much.

Now that we've pretty much proven that Mully and Hanley are not guilty of slander, could not 24_Guy be found guilty of libel with this misleading title?

Hopefully my newly added question mark will absolve me of such a charge.

I dont care, I just dont think a slander case will ever be built on a radio open of what someone else said as a mistake.

But I am not a Loawer

Very famous case, in all legal textbooks:

In Hustler Magazine v. Falwell, 485 U.S. 46 (1988), the Supreme Court ruled that a parody advertisement claiming Jerry Falwell had engaged in an incestuous act with his mother in an outhouse, while false, could not allow Falwell to win damages for emotional distress because the statement was so obviously ridiculous that it was clearly not true; an allegation believed by nobody, it was ruled, brought no liability upon the author. The court thus overturned a lower court's upholding of an award where the jury had decided against the claim of libel but had awarded damages for emotional distress.

Now you are trying to pass off your subscription to Hustler as "legal textbooks". Although I guess with Hustler it would be more like barely legal textbooks. amirite?

Some of the celebs are quick to want to sue. Announcer Durward Kirby sued Jay Ward Productions simply because they had featured a hat called the "Kurwood Derby" in an animated cartoon...!
