Mulligan doesnt have "A Guy" he is using to hide behind on this theory, he just made it clear it was his theory.

A caller asked about the arguing between Hester and Gould last night.

Mulligan then presented his theory. Nothing more than his thoughts.

2 Guys who dont have contracts, one edge. Hester yelling because Gould kicked the ball on the ground, telling him to get it in the air.

You see how Marshall reacts when his stats are down.

Winning can hold the team together. Yet, losing can fracture a team in now time when the only thing a player has to salvage is his stats, when out of contract. And the Bears have a number of them.

as the season goes on, it will be on more and more players minds. Which isnt good.

I didn't get what Mully was saying.

Why would Hester give a shit how Gould kicks the ball on kickoffs?

If true, this doesn't bother me. Identify the A-holes and eliminate them.

Not sure you'd be able to fill a roster in that case.

Honestly, I don't care. I like to see good people succeed. Or at least get a chance to. I saw a Super Bowl victory. Pretty much never expect another one anyway.

'course the world doesn't work that way.

Is hester on the kick team? Was he pissed he would risk getting hurt by having to make a tackle?

Didnt get into what hester was pissed about. I am sure Zach will have spun it nicely by today, but the point being players on edge without deals.

If I was Gould, I wouldnt be on edge though.

I would get an offer and let the bears match it plus $200K

I think Hester takes each game as a competition against the other kick returner. Gould's first couple kicks were unreturnable then he hit a hopper for a return. Hester hadn't had a returnable kick and I think it pissed him off that the other guy got to return one.

Or a message board.

I'm still not quite clear as to how Hester has any business talking to Gould about anything to begin with. Would like to know that.

meh. devin's due to have some issues like this cuz i'm thinking he's pretty much done. he had his big game against the vikings this year (a career high total of return yards or something) but then again going all the way back to his WR years, he's always had big games against the vikings. who can remember that ~98yd bomb from griese to hester in ~07/08 or whatever?

but yeah, i was just thinking about how useless devin and his 3.25mil cap hit have been this season.... it's reasonable to think that the bears might have lost the game against the vikings without all of devin's returning heroics, but that's merely one game out of six thus far, so if you're gonna have a guy who can impact one, maybe two or even three games in a season via an extremely one dimensional fashion that's not worth a 3.25mil cap hit IMHO... not to mention that devin seems to have lost whatever athleticism/mojo was there to take those long returns to the house (cuz against the vikes he had ~2 returns that old devin would have taken to the house) cuz old devin doesn't get ~275yds or whatever without getting a score.... and he doesn't have a score this year. it's unreasonable to expect a guy to drop 4+ return TDs a year, but if anyone was ever going to be in the position of a 3.25mil return specialist it's devin....so i'm basing this on the fact that he hasn't really had a bunch of big returns in the other non-vikings games to the point where he's just a guy back there.

and if devin's going to be "just a guy" back there, then "that guy" might as well be someone who's capable of being a WR4/WR5. i'm just sayin.... #Rosemont

Agree, that is part of it, makes devin looks worse

I disagree.

Hester gets 5, maybe 6 touches a game now. He would like to get one more contract out of the league somewhere.

Gould comes up and kicks a grounder that gets returned to midfield. One of his extremely limited touches is gone because any punt from there will be unreturnable.

The one thing NOBODY should do during a game is bother the kicker. Gould is as good as gold. Leave him alone.

He was the guy who line drived one after a couple of touchbacks.
