working lunch, yes working vacation, NO!

Last vacation in vegas this was my voicemail message

"You have reached Big Fan, I am on vacation until Monday. If you REALLY REALLY need to speak with me before then, leave a message, but before you do REALLY REALLY think hard before you leave such message.Have a great day"

I think "Mully & Hanley's" vacation was prearranged weeks ago, long before the two Sun-Times sportswriters took over morning drive at 670. I believe it's standard procedure in business for employees to submit vacation requests well in advance. If they didn't take the time off, they would lose it. I also think it's a union issue involving the one representing Mike, Brian & other on air staff at WSCR.

Where did you get the idea that any union was present at WSCR?

It may be nothing more than an educated guess on my part, but if I ever worked at 'SCR or any other radio/TV station, they have a union representing on-air staff. In fact, "Mac" mentioned it a couple times down the dial...
