Post subject:  Too many carries for Forte?

I think I heard them discussing this this morning, that running backs who carry 370(?)+ times, have severely diminished production the next year... and that was the first I'd heard of it, though it makes sense, akin to 130+ pitches in baseball. I also think they said he had around 310 carries, and 60 receptions.

It makes some sense to me, but have any of you heard anything like that elsewhere?

They have, but this is one of the few areas where I'm a bit skeptical of their research. I agree that there is some upper limit around that range, but 370 isn't quite the magical number the make it out to be.

Matt Forte's lack of production this season as a running back has been one of the biggest mysteries of the early going for the Bears. He was about 36% of the team's offense last year, and the only thing I could put my finger on is that Matt did so much of the heavy lifting as a feature running back & receiver, he's got little left already after a solid rookie season.
