And why not Mulli? This would be a GREAT STORY FOR A REPORTER TO REPORT ON!

And the "It's a memorial" doesn't play! In case they have not noticed, they changed 90% of the Memorial.

Mulligan hit it right on the head, how great a Super Bowl would have been in Chicago! or evne the retractable dome!

Somehow, Milwaukee pulled it off and we can't?

Domes have been built across the country...and Soldier Field was the absolute perfect opportunity to have one here in the fine city of chicago. The decision makers dropped the ball on it big time. Flat out - STUPID.

Close. But they didn't accidentally drop it.

One year of a Super Bowl and a Final Four? We might get some of that Olympic money back

Well Frank, when Miller Park has an NFL team play there, they probably would have a Super Bowl.

Detroit even got one

Thanks for playing.

DegenDave is getting very one-liner-ish. Keep it up grasshopper and one day you will aspire to the same greatness that I reached two years ago.

I am trying to accomplish more with less. Of course, this could fit into the theme of getting no dome as well sadly.

MONSTER TRUCKS!

The events that this city has lost out on because of this is monumental! Connecting the CHIDOME to the Old McCormick Center with a Casino in it, combined with the New McCormick and the Hyatt, on the lakefront with a seasonal portion would have made this a cash cow and solved many of this cities financial issues.

Between Major Conventions, Super Bowls, Final Fours, DNC Conventions,

Thanks Rich and Jerry!

Take a look at what Milwaukee does. Even though they dont have major conventions, they are packed every weekend with events they pursue. It keeps their city alive.

It would have spanked the United Center for concerts, circus and other shittage that currently visits their venue.

In my world, having the United Center on West Madison is a goofy idea, when you compare it to somewhere near/attached to McCormick. Better transportation if nothing else. I understand that property on west side was easier to acquire, but...

And eventually you have to figure out what to do with Northerly Island. "Casino", of course... (Who needs airport?)

Chicago probably could do it with fewer fatalities and more graft. One-liner.

I went to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy for the Indiana State Football Finals this past weekend. What an awesome facility, puts Soldier Field to shame. They will host the NCAA Final 4 for the second time in the last 5 years and will be hosting the Super Bowl in 2011 or 2012.

Amazing for all the crap that Indiana takes, they have something that is WAYYYYY better than Chicago.

If Indy was next to Chicago, it would be much better than the Region and Gary

And they (Indiana / Colts) have had a couple of "failed" Superbowl bids...but they will bring a Superbowl to Indianapolis and Chicago will never be considered until there is a domed stadium.

That said, who the fuck wants to go to Indianapolis for a Superbowl? Better than Detroit....but that "aint " saying much.

You need to have the hotel space to support the 250,000 or so people that come the weeks before. Indy can't handle that part.

All the focus Mayor Daley placed on Tourism, events, new facilities, for anyone to think this was just an oversight or a "veterans" issue is fooling themselves!
