Greg, I'm not intentionally singling you out, but I saw that you like this show and you are always up for some good ragging on Silvy and Carmen. Pretty much the only thing I've mentioned on this show is I find it annoying if I hear Mully yell "the score" in any of their promos. I don't listen to this show much so I can't tell you that it sucks when I've really heard it maybe three times tops. I guess my question is this: Is this show worth listening to during any other time of the year other than football season. I find it very interesting that you can rip on Silvy and Carm when they are very well rounded on Pro Chicago Sports and that they beat Mully and Hanley this past book AND people actually post things on their thread for discussion (yes, i know this particular fact doesn't make their show better). However its very odd that this is the one local show that can go literally weeks without one post on here. Last one before this was April 12 and I seem to remember a huge dead period on this thread when I first signed up here and made your life interesting by lambasting me on these boards back in the day. This isn't to piss you off or get you all grumpy, but its to see if I can figure out why no one talks about this show that Ik now listens to sports talk and no one bothers to even care about it on these boards other than f-ball season or when Vito...I mean Mully and Smurf are bitch slapping each other on air.

They just aren't good. I don't think writers make good talk show hosts. Their bread and butter is the Sun Times so they really don't dedicate themselves to their radio side jobs. Hanley mails it in because he's chasing the Bulls across the country. Everybody seems to rave about Mully and his NFL smarts. I supose he knows football but football is the easiest sport to follow for fans so I don't need him much. Plus Mully always is that fat jolly Irish guy that is very annoying.

Yea, I agree pretty much with you, but I thought I'd put Greg on the spot a bit since he listens to them and thinks Silvy and Carmen is the worst sports show in history.

A few things working against this show:

1. Two hour time slot.

2. Hanley's never on it, or so it seemed when I used to catch it more often. This is sort of a positive, actually, given that I don't Hanley much. But the instability is bad for the show's chemistry and branding for the audience.

3. The lead-in is not good at all. If I'm listening to sportstalk, I usually flip over for the first hour of the Midday Café. So because of the Mike North show, I usually just forget M&H are on.

Frothy, well put. These would definitely be reasons why not mcuh excitement for this show.

I don't listen to this show as much, but I have tuned in the past week. I have no idea why they continue to have Buffone as a fill-in.

Afterall, we ALLLLLLLL know how well Mulli and Dougy did together during the Afternoon Show post Telander stint did.

Doug is a good guy, but I'd rather only hear him on Bears post-game and his Bears nightly show during the season.

Not having Hanley present all the time is bad for the show. Why they don't use David Haugh more, or even bring Barry Rozner remains beyond me? I guess most people should be thankful Rogers isn't a temporary fillin for this show.

Greg? Won't even address this show that you listen to that no one comments on? Should be interesting to see how these guys do against Sean and Rosey. I'm gonna give both shows a try. This is where The Score needs to jump on this. Get S&C listeners from ESPN excited about listening nine to noon elsewhere.
