The overwhelming majority of the time sports radio does not affect decisions coaches and GMs make. I hate to admit this, but Mike North did help lower Skiles' asking price after his first contract was up. Even Danny Bernstein said 'that is how you do sports radio.'

On a side note, I would love to have Skiles as the Bulls coach.

What North did was publicly embarass Reinsdorf, without knowing it. The last thing Jerry R needs is Mike North's help in the area of negotiating. Reinsdorf then got the deal done as to get it out of the public arena. Fact is they were not that far apart and Reinsdorf said they will get back to Skiles. Reinsdorf likes to leave people hanging in that type of situation, let them come crawling to him.
