Wondering if anyone here has any insight as to what kind of guy Mulligan really is. Always came across as a loudmouth, mostly vanilla, guy. But the stuff with him throwing away Goff's stuff and his hissy fit over how his coffee is prepared makes me wonder if he's just a colossal prick in a fat, supposedly nice, guy's suit?

This part is accurate, the other part is just bullshit.

Loudmouth and Vanilla?

Mulligan goes out of his way to be a nice guy to everyone and from the time I have spent with him, if you got him in a bar drinking you could close the place with the guy and some great stories.

I am just guessing if you come out from behind the board you would say he was one of the best you guys you ever met, but what do I know, he pays me to type this stuff!

Mully has some principles that he lives by.

And he will not change them for anyone. Ask Harry Teinowitz.

He is an affable Irishman who would stand by you when the chips were down.

That makes him stand out at The Score more than anything else.

Care to elaborate?

Just seems to me like he has a bit of a temper, and usually the people that publically are so nice and outgoing and friendly tend to be complete jerkoffs and entitled douchebags in private.

Hope he's a great guy, as it'd be nice if there were a few more actually nice guys in the public eye.

Mully doesn't fit your assumption, Little danny bernstein may, but not Mully.

Mully's aware of the rumors - a few days ago he joked about his coffee saying something along the lines of "I've heard I'm pretty picky about my coffee..."

I've been to early morning Mully and Hanley remotes where I was one of three other non Score employees in the room. The guy came up to me during breaks and tried to have some nice conversation. He seemed like a good guy but what do I know?

Similar experience to GD with Mully - talked at the Xmas Party a year or so ago for a good 20-30 minutes about sports - good guy. Hanley was a touch more reserved than I expected but Mully was definitely a guy you could toss a few back with.

Mully was cool at the roast. I was even doing an impression of him and quoting emails from "Mike Mulligan's inside voice"

Seems like a good guy.

When I suggested Greenberg is a chicago guy he nearly blew a vein in his forehead.

So he's a nice guy having a few drinks but with a temper.

Irish.

I used to get into the Bears press box back in the day. I seem to remember Mully being a good guy to me back then, even as an obvious interloper.

What have we learned?

1. Mully has a justified temper.

2. Rock need to learn how to make the coffee right.

3. Drinky and Goff ain't never getting in that locked door. (Sorry, Mully beats Mike and Mike. He gets to lock producers from other shows out of rooms. It's just the way it is.)

I wouldn't be surprised, if this show continues to dominate, if Mully & Hanley were allowed their version of "Jen Jen". Mitch is gonna let them have one. Yeah Rock, it's happening again. Feel bad for you.

Do you remember when Mully ballistic over the Ashley Madison? ads. Similiar story here.

Mully was once scheduled to do an afternoon show with the Tiny one.

At the last minute, Tiny took it upon himself to book a guest to hawk his porn website, without consulting Mully. And yes, this was at ESPN. Mully told him we would not share his name with the guy hawking his site. Tiny thought he was joking.

When Mully started to leave, Tiny realized he was serious. And he probably also realized he is neither intelligent or clever enough to fill four hours of live radio on his own.

Mully stayed, the guest took a powder shall we say.

Mulligan and Hanley are extremely loyal and great guys. I owe them alot for their support of me. They both agreed to record my commerical, be on Bearly Legal, and always mentioned me whenver possible. They never asked for anything.

If you mess with Mulligan he will stand up to you just like most people. Hanley is quieter but will take someone on also.

Mulligan and Hanley also bought the shirts they use to give away on their show since the station wouldn't. How many other hosts do that.

I have heard him making wise cracks about his coffee. Funny guy.

Hope he's a nice guy, I do.

Hey dbag, obviously people know he is a very good guy. Your douchebag attempt to get a rise here with a new ID failed miserably. Go gargle some more seed ya dbag.

I met Mully in 2003 the day before the Bears’ opener in San Francisco and spent about 6 hours at the bar with Mully and Mariotti. I wish I had a tape recorder with me to get all their stories. Mariotti was less abrasive in person than on TV and formerly in print and was actually pretty cool. Mully was downright awesome. Very much the same guy in person as the gregarious guy you hear on radio and definitely a guy you’d want to belly up to the bar with. My wife and I hung out with M&H, Dustin and DJ while they were in Vegas for the 2010 Superbowl. All are a lot of fun and very cool.

We're happy for you. Just kidding, welcome to the board. The only bad trait Mully has in my eyes is his supposed relationship with ambulam chasers.

Welcome to the board EddieB.

Mully and Hanley were both really cool for the 10-15 minutes I talked to them at the Roast.

Mulligan and Seacrest are prudish enough to think Mr. Skin is "porn"? It's screen caps from R- rated movies, for fuck's sake. I guess we all have our own definitions of porn. For me porn is the MILF Hunter bending Brianna Beach over the back of a couch, not a photo of Mimi Rogers getting a massage from Bryan Brown. I'd have more respect for Mully if he had refused to go on the air with Harry and McBride because they're fuckin' Cub fans.

Well, I am sure to be flamed for a first post, but I met Mully and Hanley in April of 2008 at a remote upstairs at Bernie's, with about, I don't know, maybe three other fans of their show. (They had just started.) Mulligan was very nice, took time to talk with me, and seemed pretty genuine. Hanley, on the other hand, was even nicer, if that's possible, and talked with me for quite a while. I think they are both good persons. They come across as authentic and approachable, and I think that is because they were reporters first, and only became radio personalities much later.
