Given the fact that the "Herd" was on ESPN today, I had 670 on the dial from 9 until 3 today. The highlight of those 6 hours was Mully and Hanley. Of course, that's not saying much considered they were sandwiched between North and Murph. I liked the interaction the 2 hosts had and I liked Hanley's passion, even though it was for the Cubs. For being a football scribe and basketball scribe, they knew their baseball onions. The worst part of the show was that it didn't really start until 10:30 since North get shut off a fucking mike and let someone else's show start. If the Poker guy and the BattleBot suck, I'll be punching the button at 10. (Or 10:15, or 10:30, whenever the shitfest ends.) |

Yea, what the hell is up with that. North doesn't go away. Somehow he makes it through two segments....give it a rest dude. |

I know you're not a Score guy, WR, but you've got to know from reading these boards and being a Sports Talk junkie, that North does what he wants, when he wants, with whomever he wants. If I were Mully/Hanley/Buffone/Haugh, whoever fills that slot, I certainly would not want 25% of my show taken up by that blowhole blowhard. It's sad. North is Nero fiddling while Rome burns. He has no accountability and anyone who has the balls to call him out publicly doesn't last for much longer @ WSCR. |

The funny thing is that I used to be a Score guy because I used to live in the Quad Cities where ESPN1000 barely comes in. I put up with North, but thought he was OK. I don't remember him being as bad as he is now. Thing is, if it were a true radio guy that followed North and not two writers (this isn't a knock on them) I think North would get the boot out after the first segment just because the radio pro would be like, what the hell are you doing in here? I don't care who you are. This is my show. With Hanley and Mully its like, well umm...sure stay...aren't you the Score's GM anyway? Yea, hang out... |

I like Hanley. He's a pretty well rounded guy, since he's covered the Blackhawks, college basketball and the Cubs during his time at the Bright One. |

For as much of a bad rap as these two get for being football only, or whatever the complaint, they both know a good amount about the major sports that people care about. |

Isn't it "homes," homie? Or, did you mean to insult EG and call him Holmes, as in Lawrence? I hereby nominate WR as the whitest man on Redacted. |

It actually was in reference to our good friend Lawrence. Kind of a pun if you will. But yes, I can accept my whiteness. Though some of my friends of the other choice color would say I can be black on occasion. I'll defer to Lebron for the time being. |

I always thought it was Holmes. The first time I remember hearing that used was in a Cheech and Chong movie. I think it was their first, "Up in Smoke". |

Things did happen before you were born, you know. I remember hearing the term "crib" in the mid-seventies, long before it was hip. |

That’s trailer trash Hey, I went to Rich South High School and thought my god given name was "White Boy" by the time I graduated. Does that make me the blackest white guy around? My girlfriend got shot when we were sophomores, does that make me cool? Yeah I didn't think so... |

I use to live in Richton Park... lived in the subdivision across from that high school where Bozo's hotdogs use to be. That entire place ruled back in the day... Moved out in '96 though. |

Wait, you lived in Lakewood too then? Moved out in '96 myself to go to college. It was really cool there for awhile and then got really nasty. When I got back from college, things were even worse than in high school. The McDonalds on the corner and Lincoln Mall were as crappy as ever though. Too bad Alladin's Castle got shut down when that guy was stabbed to death. Good times there back in the days. |
