Quote:
Quick Hits, the Sun-Times sports column that showcased the sparkling wit of Elliott Harris along with photos of some of the sports world’s most beautiful women, has taken a hit.

Harris, 64, a 32-year veteran of the Sun-Times, was one of three editorial employees whose jobs were eliminated Tuesday. The others were sports columnist Mike Mulligan, who continues as morning co-host on CBS Radio sports/talk WSCR-AM (670), and photographer Keith Hale. Mulligan’s departure was classified as a retirement.

I'll have to contact the author about considering Harris's 'Sports and Torts' gig as 'in the public eye'.

I knew something wasn't right with Mulligan when I noticed that he was on vacation while all of the NFL stuff was coming back, and then the fact that he is back, but has still not made it to Bears camp yet. I guess Mitch and the crew likes all of the yelling and corny jokes.

I think Jim O'Donnell was among several cuts at the Sun-Times a few months ago as the struggling newspaper tries to stay afloat financially...

I was curious what his Score contract pays. You'd think having a full time morning gig would be enough to pay the bills. If that is the case, it's probably for the best.

With regards to M&H, I am disappointed by all their Bears negativity already. Their interview with that NFL network guy this morning was a classic example. All the questions were slanted in a negative way towards the Bears. Hanley asked the guest why that Steelers' lineman signed for $3M less than what the Bears had offered and what that says about the Bears as an organization if free agents don't want to come here. The NFL Network guy put Hanley in his place by saying the Bears didn't offer $3M more and in fact the Steelers offered the most money.

I am sick of the attack mode against Lovie and his crew. I get the frustration with Jerry and Lovie, but it's not like they're the Panthers.

I think you are referring to Michael Lombardi, who is one of many talking heads at the NFL Network, and one of the many football analysts 670 The SCORE's big voice guy mentions by name in one of several new promos that started airing within the last week,

That's probably it. The guy was ok, but I don't recall his name (it was around 7:00). I just hated the tone of their questions where they were trying to get this guy to buy into their Bears hate. All this jumping to conclusions about the offensive line when it's just way too early. The whole team isn't even in camp until tomorrow. I don't need 6 months of complete Bears hatred. And if they win like last year, then I have to hear everyone complain about luck, injuries to the other team, NFL parity NFL, a weak schedule or whatever excuse people use to diminish the Bears (looking at you Rozner).

He hasn't worked there since 08 or 09. I know he was still there when Mike North was doing Monsters in the Morning.

Feder's coverage of this was strange. He glossed over the fact that they pushed Mulligan out the door but lamented the loss of creepy old Elliott Harris and his beautiful women.

I think the "beautiful women" Feder was referring involved photos of Anna Kournikova, former LOOP "Rock Girl" April Rose, ESPN/ABC's Erin Andrews and others that Elliott always posted in his "Quick Hits" byline...
