would be a more apt name.

Ive been listening for about 45 minutes instead of 15 recently. Its pretty much all Mulligan til he asks Hanley to agree with him and Hanley does.

I can't even get down with Mully. They are both bad. Hanley much worse, but both bad none the less.

I do agree that Mully is pretty much runnin shit. Which makes Hanley look even worse. You sit their, not concerned with having to fill dead air. Getting plenty of time to come up with a good thought. Maybe crafting a funny joke or two and then boom......you Hanleys yourself...

Yeah, I never realized how much Mully dominates everything. I think he likes to get Hanley involved early (a la the Bulls with Cartwright) in the first segment, before he takes over.

Theyre both bad, but I like listening just to see how dumb they will get.

It's actually more fun to talk about how bad they are, than listening to them.

Absolutely. I always wonder if one of the other early birds will beat me to posting their idiocy

I listened a little this morning for the first time in a long time while shoveling snow. It's a tough listen. They ruin almost every interview they do. They bring someone on and continue to do their schtick the entire time.

Stuff like Hub Arkush a year or so ago telling Hanley that his "Manumaleuseless" joke wasn't funny or the reporter from Buffalo shitting on Mully for his "Ryan Fitzmagic" stuff would usually be a clue to normal radio hosts that maybe they should cool it with the lame shit. Not these guys...

Didnt know either of those stories.

They are kinda like Laurence in that way. They are gonna do their show, their way and fuck anyone else who thinks they should change.

Personally, I dont care for MOST interviews on any show. Occassionally you'll get some good stuff like Billick on B and B. And the sportsbetting guy on M and H is ok but for the most part the interviews are terrible and filled with say nothing cliches.

I wish they were taped somewhere. Both cringeworthy radio.

The interview thing is annoying as hell. It's the same with their callers. They will do a 3 minute routine while the person is sitting their waiting to speak. It's ridiculous. First because it's not nearly as funny as they both think it is secondly becasue the guy on the phone has to pretend to laugh at the shit...

Yeah, Hub's crotchety nature, like Bruce LeVine, sometimes comes in handy.

It was great because he totally caght Hanley off guard. It sounded like Hub was somehow offended by Hanley's joke. Hanly just fumbled out a few incoherent words and Hub moved on with his thoughts...

I don't see any way that this show ever gets better. Like you said, they're going to do their thing no matter what. And they'll probably get decent numbers going up against a national show...

bernstein knows how to ask a question. Guys like North and Mully think they know the answer before they ask it so the question becomes a rambling jumble that includes what they perceive to be the answer. The interviewee often doesn't know what to say.

True. And Silvy is a good interviewer.

But for the most part, the people interviewed on sports radio just have nothing to say.

True, that's why the media loved Guillen and Ditka so much. Even when he was angry at them, Ditka gave the reporters something to write about or an interview that the radio station could replay a few times.

We've been lucky in chicago in general.

Some of those lunatics that managed the Cubs in the Tribune era were very interesting.
