Follow?

Per Mulligan, during the Sox rain delay he had Chris Sale on the air and Rongey broke the news to Sale that he was goign to start closing games from the pen.

As long as I am obsessed with the Sox, was this true?

And why is Cooper breaking MRI news on XM radio shows when WSOx is the flagship, plus they pay Cooper for a weekly show?

Because your man Mully didn't ask the question?

Post subject:  Re: Per Mulli, Re: Ranger about Sale

He is asking right now, coop is getting very angry.

Mulli is asking 20 times more questions than Rongey does in a week.

Nothing at all wrong with Sale, totally fine. He is in the Pen, but nothing wrong.

This interview could get really good! soon (click)

This is some of the best Coop in a while, as expected, listening to him weasel out of this.

Even Mulli (Sox fan) flat out states , "Coop, you gotta admit this whole thing has been weird"

You have to be really bad to make me flip over to Mike and MIke and listen to dance results while debating if it would be better to drive off a bridge or into a wall. <shudder>

that interview sucked...like most interviews with players/coaches...coop gave them nothing and they did not press...just said ohh o.k....o.k....is mac the only guy at the score that has the balls to ask a hard question and not let the guy off with a bullshit answer?

Yeah really.

Great pitching coach, miserable bastard on the air. I've chatted with him a few different times out in the LF bullpen though. He'll chat and sign a few things until the starting pitcher gets out there. Seems friendly enough then to the fans anyway. But seriously, whoever makes the decision to continue to have Coop on the air is an idiot.

It's a complete no-win.

Cooper absolutely detests the media and clearly hates talking to them.

The media guys clearly dread having to talk to Cooper.

So why does any show have him on at all? Furthermore, why does he agree to do it?

My point exactly. It makes no sense at all.

The whole thing just makes for really bad radio where there is a lot of anger and no entertainment or information...

I think there's a reason why Don Cooper still has a big presence on The SCORE. It's not just on the "Mully & Hanley Show" once a week during baseball season, as well as a sponsored segment on Ranger's White Sox Radio Network pregame show. SCORE bosses seem to think Cooper brings insight to their air. The more I hear Cooper talk, the more smug & full of himself he sounds.

That's the point, Kid. Why continue to have him on? And if its a year deal or whatever, why sign him up after how he acted last year?

Its kind of a bitch move by the score too. I understand they are the Sox flagship, but did they really think Coop was gonna give you anything concrete with the regards to Sale? If they really wanted some insight as to what is going on, they have should had Herm Schnieder on.

if the feeling is mutual and neither like talking to each other then mully should at least make it interesting radio and ask hard questions and not let him off the hook...the worst cooper could do is hang up..problem solved

He'd be the one I'd want to hear from, Frank. The longtime White Sox trainer, not that smug S.O.B. of a pitching coach.

I think it's becoming eminently clear that this team has two managers and they may not be on the same page. Now, in practice that may not be any different than when Guillen was here. But Ozzie was never going to allow the perception that he wasn't in charge of everything concerning that ballclub.

Why didn't they just give the job to Cooper then?

The Sox-ass-licking Rongey doesn't ask that many questions in a year...
